This Sweet Rescuer Won Back The Trust Of A Terrified Dog All Because Of His Perfect Approach

Unfortunately, not every animal has a happy life as soon as they are born.

A lot of them grow up living on the streets, fighting for scraps and looking for shelter from the cold. Some of them are even abused by their previous owners, making them lose trust in all hoomans.

Luckily, there are people in the world who dedicate their lives to rescuing such pups and showing them that they are worthy of being a part of a loving family.

This is one of such stories.

Restoring Trust

When Lee Asher, founder of a registered non-profit sanctuary in Estacada, Oregon, by the name of The Asher House, heard about a pup who needed some extra love and attention, he decided he was going to give her just that.

He made his way down to the regional animal service of King County in order to meet the German Shepperd who was scheduled to be euthanized because she was extremely terrified of any hooman that approached.

Asher’s goal was to gain her trust and bring her back to his sanctuary so that she could finally see what it is like to be loved.

When the two met, the Oregon rescuer decided to take things slow.

He began by sitting down and taking the pup’s leash, trying to get her to come closer to him. The pup, even though still quite shy, did approach Asher and even sniffed and kissed his hand.

Asher proceeded to talk to her in a calm and soothing voice, reassuring her that it was okay and that she was a very good girl.

“That’s a nice girl. That’s nice. You are doing so good. You’re going to go home today. Don’t worry. She’s perfect,” Asher told the pup in a YouTube video.

And, just like that, the pup was adopted!

Even though the pup was still really nervous, Asher managed to get her in his car and take her to her new life.

Importance Of Rescuers

This story is the perfect example of how important rescuers are.

The way Asher handled this pup was truly heartwarming. He wanted her to understand that she was in safe hands and would never have to fear any hooman ever again.

I am sure that, just like so many animals that arrived at The Asher House, this pup will come out of her shell and enjoy all the joys life can offer her.

Good luck, you sweet pup!
