The Doberman Pinscher is a well-known dog breed in Europe and the USA, thanks to its high intelligence and excellent physique. This dog breed has it all: brains and brawn.

Since they were bred to serve and protect, Dobermans have maintained their guarding instincts throughout the years.

It’s not rare to see one of these incredible dogs guarding a facility or even the home next door. Dobermans are everywhere, even mixing with other dogs!

We’ve combed the crossbreed world thoroughly and managed to find 33 incredible Doberman mixes, each one better than the last.

Take a look and let us know which Doberman mix is your favorite! We bet the decision is a really hard one.

What Is A Doberman?

doberman in a lavender field

The Doberman Pinscher is a dog breed originally created by a German tax collector named Louis Dobermann. The breed was discovered in the late 19th century. Back in the day, tax collecting was dangerous, and people who had that job were often the target of robberies.

Dog historians believe the Doberman was developed by crossbreeding breeds like the Rottweiler, German Pinscher, and Black and Tan Terrier.

Thanks to their superb work abilities, Dobermans have become popular dogs and have maintained that status throughout the years. When you combine this trait with their loyalty and natural instincts, you’ll get one excellent guard dog.

With over 100 pounds, a muscular body, and intimidating looks, the Doberman is a brave and confident dog that will protect you and your family no matter what. So, you better make sure he never lacks premium dog food.

This all may sound as if Dobermans are dangerous. Au contraire! They’re kind souls and very affectionate towards their family members. Still, socializing is a must!

As for their intelligence, we believe the fact they’re the fifth smartest dog breed will tell you everything.
These dogs have a fairly long lifespan of 10 to 13 years. Their health issues are the same as other large breed dogs, e.g., hip dysplasia.

Best Doberman Pinscher Mixes

So many Doberman mixes, so little time! We couldn’t put every Doberman mix on our list because that list would be endless. Still, here are 33 of the most amazing Doberman mixes you’ll find in the canine kingdom.

Parents: German Shepherd & Doberman

The Doberman Shepherd is a mixed breed dog from two extraordinary working dog breeds, both originally from Germany. The parent breeds we’re talking about are the German Shepherd and the Doberman Pinscher. These are dog breeds with amazing physical and cognitive abilities.

What else is big about these doggies is their build. That’s why it’s not unusual for their mixed puppy to be over 100 pounds. While the puppy can inherit the Doberman’s coat colors, the facial features usually come from the German Shepherd.

The Doberman German Shepherd mix will be a working dog, like its parents, and thus it should be adopted into an active home.

2. Grey Doberhound: Doberman Mix Greyhound

The Grey Doberhound is a cross between the Greyhound and Doberman Pinscher. This is a combination of two dogs with contrasting traits in temperament and character. Dobermans are often intense dogs, while the Greyhound is usually a playful pup.

The Grey Doberman is a gentle dog, calm but still territorial. They may seem like couch potatoes, but they actually have lots of spare energy thanks to their Greyhound genes. You can expect athleticism and agility from these doggos, so make sure you provide plenty of playtime.

3. Doberman Bulldog

Photo from: @major_the_englishdobie

Parents: English Bulldog & Doberman

The Doberman Bulldog is the love child of the Doberman and English Bulldog. This lovely crossbreed is a friendly pup (just like the Bully) and fierce, like the Dobie.

Since Bulldogs are hefty dogs that can put on some weight, and Dobies are muscular and lean, the Doberman Bulldog will be somewhere in between.

As for their temperament, these dogs will be friendly and calm but still active and adventurous.

However, if you can’t provide them with enough exercise, you better not adopt this Doberman mix. They also require early socialization, so bear that in mind.

4. Boxerman

The Pit Bull Terrier and the Doberman are two dog breeds with bad reputations and are often considered dangerous. This common misconception disappears once someone meets one of the mentioned breeds or their crossbreed puppy.

The Doberman Pit is a guard dog that will protect you and shower you with love and joy.

They have the Dobie’s speed and strength and the Pit’s muscular build. While the physical traits may vary from dog to dog, this crossbreed usually inherits the Pitbull’s facial features and the Dobie’s body structure.

6. Dobie Schnauzer

doberman schnauzer

Parents: Standard Schnauzer & Doberman

Dobie Schnauzers are puppies from two totally different dog breeds, the Schnauzer and the Doberman. Breeders use only giant Schnauzers, so the Dobie Schnauzer puppies are large or extra-large.

This is a fairly new Doberman mix in the designer dog world. According to the parent breeds, we can say their puppy will be intelligent and playful, with a little goofiness peaking through.

This Doberman mix can be an excellent watch dog or guardian. If you train it properly, the dog will be good with kids, loyal, affectionate, and always have an eye on you.

7. Bloodmann

bloodhound doberman mix

Parents: Bloodhound & Doberman

The Bloodman sounds so… terrifying! But, the name couldn’t be further from the truth. This unique crossbreed is one of the rarest crossbreeds in the world. Still, it’s a breathtaking mix of a Doberman and a Bloodhound.

The Bloodhound is a calm dog; not too energetic, and not too laid-back either. They’re juuust… right!

Many puppies inherit the sharp nose of the Bloodhound and thus develop a tendency to wander off, investigating new smells.

Just get them a big backyard, lots of attention, and you’ll have a happy dog.

Take a look at our article on Bloodhound mixes to find out more about interesting combinations of the Bloodhound with some other dog breeds!

The Siberian Pinscher or the Dobsky is the crossbreed of the Siberian Husky and the Doberman. This is a combination of two contrasting breeds: the Husky is energetic, while the Doberman is much calmer. The result is an elegant dog featuring only the best qualities of the parent breeds.

Many Siberian Pinschers inherit the stunning blue eyes you usually see in Huskies. Usually, these mixes have the Husky’s head and body, while their coat color is black, just like the Doberman’s.

Since both parents are hardworking and energetic, you can expect their puppy to be playful and enthusiastic.

9. Beagleman

Parents: Beagle & Doberman

The Beagleman sounds like a villain, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not a villain at all. This is a Beagle and Doberman mix, one of the most passionate, courageous, and curious dog breeds in the canine kingdom.

Every Beagle mix turns out to be a great dog, thanks to the Beagle’s calm temperament.

The Beagleman is a friendly and rekatively calm dog. They might not be as intense and alert as Dobermans, but they will stay alert just enough to warn you of danger using their strong howl.

The Beagleman needs lots of exercise and space. However, they don’t need much grooming, and that’s always a bonus point.

10. Borderman Collie

Parents: Springer Spaniel & Doberman

Everyone would love to have a sweet and charming puppy like the Springerman. This is a cross between the Springer Spaniel and the Doberman. This is another rare not so popular Doberman mix whose appearance can vary significantly.

The Springerman usually has the ears of the Spaniel and some fluff around that area. Many pups inherit the Doberman’s face and a lean body.

As for their character, Springermans are affectionate, loyal, devoted, and highly intelligent.

In order for them to function normally around kids and other dogs, you will need to have them trained and provide enough exercise. If they get bored, they will develop separation anxiety.

12. Dobernese

dobernese

Parents: Bernese Mountain Dog & Doberman

The Dobernese is a gentle giant. This huge dog is a combination of genes from the calm Bernese Mountain dog and the fierce Doberman Pinscher. The Dobernese makes the perfect companion that will protect you anytime you need it.

This is another rare crossbreed, but this doesn’t make this dog any less special. They have a friendly vibe, thanks to their Bernese parent. However, they’re still alert and sense danger because of their Doberman genes.

If you keep in mind how awesome the parents are, you can tell the Dobernese will be a highly adaptive dog capable of understanding human emotions.

13. Dobergi

corgi doberman mix

Photo from: @arniepalmerny

Parents: Welsh Corgi & Doberman

This is a fairly bizarre crossbreed, coming from a Pembroke Welsh Corgi parent and a big Doberman Pinscher parent. Even though the parent breeds clash in appearance, their mixed puppy is actually much cuter than you’d think.

The Dobergi has short and stubby legs and an elongated body. They inherit their dark coat color and ears from the Doberman parent.

This is supposed to be an active dog, ready to work, bringing out its herding instincts.

14. Doberkita Inu

Parents: Akita Inu & Doberman

The Doberkita Inu is as mighty as it sounds. When you combine the Akita’s loyalty and the Doberman’s bravery, you get a premium designer dog that will guard you whenever you need it.

Both parents are alert and vigilant dogs, capable of protecting your entire home and staying loyal no matter what.

If you provide proper training and early socialization, the Doberkita Inu will be great with kids, especially older ones. In fact, the Akita parent is known for having a soft spot for kids, hence the friendly genes kicking in.

Parents: Golden Retriever & Doberman

We had to include the Golderman Pinscher on this list. This is a cross between the Golden Retriever and the Doberman Pinscher. This Doberman mix is one of the sweetest and friendliest pups for families.

This dog is eager to please everyone. Thanks to its high intelligence, obedience training won’t be an issue at all. Still, be prepared for occasional bursts of energy and enthusiasm.

The Golderman Pinscher usually inherits a fluffy coat from the Golden parent. However, the coat color will resemble the Doberman’s.

The end result is a huge dog, capable of being a protector and cuddler.

The Doberdane is usually a gentle dog with lots of confidence. This dog breed also has a sweet side and isn’t ashamed to show affection. Still, they’re a bit reserved with strangers.

It’s in the Doberdane’s genetic code to be loyal. If they sense a threat, they will warn you. Thanks to their friendliness, Doberdanes make excellent family pets and get along with kids just fine.

17. Dobie Argentino

dobie argentino

Photo from: @biggie_dobie_argentino

Parents: Dogo Argentino & Doberman

The Dogo Argentino and the Doberman mix is one of the best dogs for guarding and protecting. Their crossbreed puppy is equally brave and territorial.

Even though they may seem dangerous, Dobie Argentino dogs are actually quite friendly and loving towards their family members. They seem to tolerate rough play from kids, but you still need to supervise them and have these dogs socialized.

This is not a dog for first-time owners. They need a firm hand and a leader since they tend to have dominant personalities and easily assume the alpha role.

18. Rotterman: Doberman Mix Rottweiler

rotterman

Photo from: @tyson_therotterman

Parents: Rottweiler & Doberman

The Rottweiler and the Doberman are two similar dog breeds in terms of looks and temperament. The Rotterman is quite similar to its parent breeds.

This is a popular Rottweiler mix, but it doesn’t mean it’s suitable for any dog owner. We recommend a firm leader who will train them and put them through early socialization. If you raise them with kids and other dogs, Rottermans will be loyal and affectionate pups.

They tend to develop strong bonds with all family members. Even though they look tough, these dogs still need human interaction and affection.

19. Doberman Corso

doberman corso

The Doberman Corso tends to be reserved and calm, confident and always on guard – It’s the perfect combination of two purebred dogs.

It’s a large dog suitable only for experienced owners. Given their size and strength, they may be a bit difficult to control.

20. Great Dobernees

The parent breeds are confident, fearless, brave, and loyal. This dog is all that plus patient and protective.

The coat type can lean to both parents. It can be short, long, or in between. The colors vary too.

21. Doberdor: Doberman Mix Lab

Labrador Retrievers are one of the most popular dogs in the States. No wonder people decided to mix them with Dobermans. The Retriever parent brings traits like affection, playfulness, and companionship, while the Doberman parent brings bravery and protectiveness.

The Doberdor is a big and strong dog with a slim and muscular body. They’re big cuddlers but only with family members.

One of the most unusual Doberman mixes is the Dobie Basset. This is a combination of the confident Doberman and the goofy-looking Basset Hound. The Dobie Basset actually makes a great family pet.

This mix usually takes the form of the Basset Hound, but they’re slightly taller and bigger. They have long bodies and short legs. As for the coat color, this mixed breed puppy will usually inherit the black and tan combination from the Dobie.

These are loyal dogs, intelligent, compassionate, friendly, and versatile.

23. Doberdoodle: Doberman Mix Poodle

doberman poodle mix

Photo from: @louiethedoberdoodle

Parents: Standard Poodle & Doberman

The Doodleman Pinscher or the Doberdoodle is a hybrid dog combining the Doberman and the Standard Poodle. Both breeds are very intelligent and proud, which makes their puppy one smart cookie.

The parent breeds are also confident, alert, trainable, and loyal. The Doberdoodle has all these traits and is considered one of the smartest Doberman mixes when it comes to obedience training.

The Doberdoodle will sometimes look like the Poodle with its curly coat, but the color combination will resemble the Doberman, leaning to black or grey.

24. Doberland

doberman newfoundland mix

Photo from: @obsessed_with_charlie_brown

Parents: Newfoundland & Doberman

The Doberland is a hybrid between the Newfoundland and Doberman Pinscher. This hybrid is bold like the Doberman but still calm and elegant like the Newfie. It’s a large dog breed with an even larger heart.

The Doberland has an energetic side when playing or working. But, this breed can still be gentle and sweet-natured thanks to its Newfie genes.

Since both parents are large dogs, you can expect the puppy to be large too. Watch out when you leave them alone with kids. Even though they have the nanny genes from the Newfie, Doberlands can still knock over kids unintentionally.

25. Auberman Pinscher

Parents: Australian Shepherd & Doberman

Last but not least is the energetic and cheerful Auberman Pinscher. This cross is between the Australian Shepherd and the Doberman Pinscher. Their puppy is a happy-go-lucky mix that will win you over with its cheerful character and excellent working abilities.

The Auberman will be an alert and vigilant puppy that needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. If you don’t provide that, this sweet puppy will turn into a destructive menace.

26. Doberman Mix With Chihuahua

doberman chihuahua mix

Photo from: @dogo_graphy

Parents: Chihuahua & Doberman

This hybrid dog is a pretty rare Doberman mix. You might even ask yourself, “How is this possible?”

Well, it is possible through IVF. Crossbreeding contrasting dog breeds has become popular in the past 20 years.
However, this is not the healthiest Doberman mix on the list. When you think about it, breeding extremely tiny dogs with large ones like the Doberman isn’t the healthiest decision either.

The Doberman Chihuahua mix is prone to numerous health issues like cardiomyopathy, CVI, osteosarcoma, hip dysplasia, Von Willebrand’s disease, bloat, etc.

27. Doberman Dachshund Mix

dachshund doberman mix

Photo from: @callperfectpets

Parents: Dachshund & Doberman

The Doberman Dachshund or the Dobie Doxie is another Doberman mix you can’t find easily. This rare crossbreed is a pretty unique one when you think of the Dobie’s big stature and the Doxie’s small feet and elongated body.

This crossbreed is genetically predisposed to acting aggressively and assuming the role of the alpha dog in the house. If you’re a first-time owner, you better skip this mix and pick a calmer one.

28. Doberman Coonhound Mix

doberman coonhound

Photo from: @elcapitanthedog

Parents: Redbone Coonhound & Doberman

The Redbone Coonhound and the Doberman have met and created one of the most unique Doberman mixes with a stunning appearance. The Dobercoon is a pup with a sweet temperament.

They’re energetic, affectionate, and live to please their owners. They can grow up to 100 pounds and will spend many years with you if treated properly. The average lifespan of this crossbreed is 10 to 15 years, which is still not enough for such a lovely pooch.

29. Doberman Catahoula Mix

doberman catahoula

Photo from: @cashcatadobie

Parents: Doberman & Catahoula Leopard dog

Since both parent dogs are excellent watchdogs, there’s a huge chance their offspring will be great guardians too.

However, this dog is not meant to be kept with other dogs because of its strong personality. You will need to put a lot of effort into socializing them to get a functioning puppy.

They might be tough cookies, but Doberman Catahoulas are sensitive to their human’s emotions.

30. Doberman Heeler Mix

dobeman heeler

Photo from: @jdicastro

Parents: Doberman Pinscher & Australian Cattle Dog, aka Blue or Red Heeler

But, Dobie Heelers aren’t a problematic dog breed. They’re sweet, affectionate, and will make your day a whole lot better.

31. Doberman Yorkie Mix

doberman and yorkie

Parents: Doberman Pinscher & Yorkshire Terrier

Now, here’s a Doberman mix you don’t see every day! Who even thought of breeding a giant dog breed like the Doberman with a tiny Yorkie?

The result is a dog that will make everyone ask: What in the world is that?

Well, it’s a combination of fearless traits, bravery, yappiness, all put together in one unusually-shaped dog breed.

Do we dare to call it a Dorkie? Absolutely!

32. Jack Russell Doberman Mix

jack russel doberman mix

Photo from: @capturedmoments.northcoast

The Jack Russell Doberman is another crossbreed puppy you can only get via IVF. Breeders use Jack Russell males and Doberman females to create this unique pup.

However, this doesn’t mean they should do that. While all pups are wonderful, we still have to think about whether intentional breeding of two contrasting breeds is ethical. Sadly, the Dobie Russell is a crossbreed prone to numerous health problems.

33. Doberman Chow Mix

doberman chow chow mix

Photo from: @kylo.barkside

Parents: Doberman & Chow Chow

Dobie Chows are some spunky dogs! They’re free-spirited, energetic, and love to explore their surroundings. When you combine two spectacular dog breeds like the Doberman and the Chow Chow, their puppy is nothing short of spectacular!

Dobie Chows aren’t easy to find. Fingers crossed, you successfully locate a good breeder in the States.

Conclusion

So, which one of these 33 Doberman mixes is your favorite?

Are you looking for an alert dog like the Doberkita Inu or a gentle guarding giant like the Doberland?

One thing is for sure: no matter which Doberman mix you get, you won’t make a mistake. They’re all amazing dogs!
