This Illinois Dog’s Snowman Destruction Will Have You Laughing Out Loud

Winter slows everything down and snow brings something magical to the world.

It can be an enjoyable season especially if you have a dog with whom you can share those fun moments.

I love watching dogs leap into a pile of fresh snow or chase snowflakes on a morning walk.

Nala, an adorable 2-year-old rescue dog, was looking forward to playing outside and discovering what a real snowfall was like.

Since she hadn’t seen this much snow before, she was thrilled when she stepped outside. Her tail couldn’t stop moving.

Emily and her boyfriend were excited to enjoy the day too. Their plan was to roll up the snow and build a snowman in their backyard.

They didn’t know that Nala had her own agenda for how this winter adventure should go.

Snowy Day In Chicago

Snow turned Chicago into a wonderful winter scene.

It was one of the coldest starts to the season in more than a century, but Emily and her boyfriend didn’t want to stay indoors.

After they dressed in warm clothes, they stepped into their yard to make a snowman.

Nala followed close behind. She was eager to explore the heavy snow.

Since they had moved from Kansas City, this was the most snow she had ever seen.

Emily said in an interview, “We lived in Chicago last year, too, but didn’t get a lot of snow. So this was definitely one of the biggest amounts she’s seen before!”

Nala’s Intervention

The couple began making the snowman’s base and were happy with how it was coming along.

Nala watched them with a curious expression on her face. She was trying to understand this unusual pile they were so concentrated on.

That’s when she did something that surprised the couple. She walked toward the snowman and pressed her paws into it. It seemed as if she was testing what they had made.

The moment Nala realized the pile crumbled under her paws, she tore into it.

Nala kept stomping and digging with excitement. She was happy with her new discovery. She must have thought that snowman was meant for her to play with.

Emily and her boyfriend stepped back. They couldn’t stop laughing. The pup was proud because she “helped” in her own way.

Emily filmed the moment and shared it on TikTok.

“Sorry, no snowmen allowed,” the caption reads.

She later added, “It was her first time trying to build a snowman, and she’s just a very playful girl and loves being included in anything and everything we do, so she just wanted to get in on the fun.”

A TikTok Sensation

Before long, the video caught people’s attention, and it gathered many comments from people who loved Nala’s enthusiasm.

One person joked, “HOA around here is strict,” while another wrote, “I agree, there’s enough men here.”

Others stepped in to “defend” Nala saying, “He tried to save the man y’all stuffed in the snow, he’s actually a trained rescue dog, dontcha know?”

Emily and her boyfriend loved all the reactions.

They had a wonderful time that day and were glad to share the most hilarious moment with everyone. Although the snowman didn’t survive, Nala’s excitement made the day unforgettable.

The video reminded us how much fun and joy dogs bring into our lives.
