Couple Stunned To Discover Something Furry Hiding Behind A Flowerpot During Wedding Venue Visit In New York

Today’s story is a little reminder that coincidences don’t exist, and that everything unfolds just as it should.

Erica and Cristian, an engaged couple, went with their parents to a wedding venue in Brooklyn, New York, unaware that this visit would change their lives.

After they had dinner, Cristian’s mom spotted something furry lurking around a flowerpot.

Once they looked closer and discovered that the little unexpected guest was a little calico kitten, everyone was mesmerized by her.

No Longer Alone In This World

Having found out that there weren’t any other cats nearby, Erica and Cristian knew exactly what to do.

The kitten was freezing and soaked to the skin. She needed help right away.

The kind couple took her in their arms and did everything they could to make her feel warm again.

“[T]he venue manager came out with a dinner napkin and handed it to us to wrap her in,” Erica told The Dodo.

The venue manager wanted to take the kitten to the New York shelter, but Erica and Cristian had a different idea.

They already had a cat, named Sushi, and Erica wanted to expand the family by adopting another kitten.

Although Cristian wasn’t a fan of having another pet, once he saw the tiny kitten, she stole his heart. The couple knew that they wanted to welcome her into the family.

They chose the name Rigatoni for the kitten, a nod to the pasta meal they had eaten right before coming across her.

“[We] went to our wedding venue with our parents to show them and came home with a daughter,” Erica wrote on TikTok.

The Family Of Her Dreams

The couple brought Rigatoni home. She was exhausted, hungry, and infested with fleas.

They gave her a much-needed bath and made sure she had all the necessary supplies.

Erica and Cristian couldn’t help feeling worried for their little baby daughter. Taking turns, they slept on the couch and offered her tiny meals throughout the night.

Rigatoni felt safe because she had loving humans by her side.

In the morning, the couple drove her to the vet. Once they found out that the kitten was doing well, they breathed a sigh of relief.

Erica shared Rigatoni’s story on TikTok, delighting her followers. Some viewers commented that Rigatoni wanted to be at their wedding, and she just arrived a bit too early.

“She is your first wedding guest. It was meant to be!” one user wrote.

Rigatoni fit into the family right away. She loves snuggling with her parents and she gets along with the other cat, Sushi.

The kitten is happy because she has the home of her dreams and a family who adores her.
