This Stray Dog In California Looked Neglected, But The Car Ride Showed How Bad It Really Was

Street life can turn even the simplest day into a struggle. A stray dog has to search for food, avoid danger, and keep going without the comfort every animal should know.

That is why rescuers like Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy in California, matter so much. Her work has brought countless dogs to safety, including one little pup no one could forget.

He was found in a neighborhood with long, tangled fur hiding something painful underneath, and his rescue soon became another reminder of why help cannot wait.

A Call For Help

After a small stray dog was spotted wandering a neighborhood, concerned residents reached out to Hall for assistance.

Without hesitation, she jumped into her car and headed straight for the location.

Since her rescue partner, Mary Nakiso, was already nearby, Hall asked her to arrive first and ensure the frightened pup didn’t disappear before help arrived.

Nakiso was able to spot him exactly where the neighbors had seen him.

One kindhearted resident even offered their yard to help contain the dog, which made all the difference in securing him safely.

Within minutes, the rescuers were able to bring the dog to safety.

They gently slipped a leash over the dog’s head, carefully lifting him into the car, and made their way to Camino Pet Hospital.

During the drive, Hall finally got a closer look at the situation. The dog’s long, matted fur was entangled with dozens of painful stickers, pulling at his skin.

It was evident that the poor dog had been suffering for a long time.

A Fresh Start

At the hospital, the dog, now named Buss, was given a soothing bath and a much-needed haircut.

Hall felt a deep sense of gratitude for the incredible team of veterinarians and staff who worked tirelessly to help the little pup.

“I am beyond thankful to my vet and amazing staff who work so hard each day to perform miracles. They never stop helping and they work so hard. I appreciate them so very much,” Hall shared in a post on Facebook.

After his spa treatment, Buss looked like a completely different dog.

Thanks to the quick actions of Hall, Nakiso, and the compassionate neighbors, this once-neglected pup was given a second chance at life.

When the time is right, Buss will undoubtedly find the loving forever home.
