What Joanna Sansan caught on camera in front of Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta, Georgia, was truly heartwarming.
Her former foster dog, Jersey Mike, was recorded trotting out of the shelter with his brand-new dad. But more than that, the dog was practically prancing his way into his new life.
The moment feels even more special knowing that Mike was on the verge of the inevitable at the Georgia shelter. Joanna, who originally fostered him, saved the pup right before his deadline, giving him the temporary shelter he truly needed.
Although dog-friendly, easy on a leash, and a total lovebug, Mike’s odds weren’t in his favor. Yet, thanks to Joanna, he made the most of every moment in foster care. To say it paid off would be an understatement!
The video posted on Joanna’s TikTok page shows Mike hopping and looking back at his new dad with an expression that could melt the coldest heart.
The clip text reads: “POV: you watch your foster dog leave the shelter with his new dad.”
And that’s exactly what the viewers were able to see. Mike, who came so close to being overlooked forever, now begins a new chapter, and he couldn’t be happier!
“Saved Jersey Mike right before his deadline. Bbyboy had all odds against him. I’m just happy he’s happy to go home. I love you always Mikey,” Joanna wrote in the video description.
Although bittersweet to watch her beloved friend go away, Joanna was overjoyed to see him finally find a family of his own. The adoption made every moment with Mike worth it.
