Florida Shelter Dog Set To Be Euthanized Is Saved In A Miraculous Last-Minute Rescue

Every dog deserves love, safety, and care. They give us all their love and ask for little in return: a loving home and a kind human who won’t give up on them. But when they’re abandoned, life becomes a fight to survive. Days turn into a search for some warmth and hope.

Ella knew that life too well. When rescuers found her, she was frail and barely hanging on. No one knew how long she had been suffering, but it was clear she needed help fast.

Just when it seemed her time was running out, a single act of kindness changed everything.

A Heartbreaking Discovery

When Ella arrived at Miami-Dade County Animal Services, her condition broke the staff’s hearts. The senior dog could hardly move. She was exhausted and neglected.

“She was in very poor condition and suffering from multiple medical issues, including severe dehydration, advanced dental disease, corneal problems, muscle wasting, and an overall deteriorated body condition to the point where she was non-ambulatory,” Gabriella Dominguez, Public Information Officer at the shelter, said in an interview.

Ella had been found wandering alone in a field alone. She had no collar, microchip or clue to her past.

The shelter’s vet team gave her treatment, but her condition needed specialized care they couldn’t provide.

With her health declining, the difficult decision was made to schedule her euthanasia for October 3, 2025. Staff believed it was the only way to end her pain until fate stepped in.

A Rescue In The Final Hours

A short video of Ella lying quietly in her kennel was shared by Urgent Dogs of Miami, a social media page that highlights dogs in danger.

Fortunately, Ella caught the attention of True and Faithful Pet Rescue Mission (TFPRM), a rescue located in Venice, known for helping senior dogs.

The team rushed to pull her out of the shelter and luckily, they arrived just in time.

“We saved Ella about 2:00 P.M. and her deadline was 4:30 P.M.,” a TFPRM spokesperson shared.

Ella’s New Beginning

At the TFPRM sanctuary, Ella finally received the care she had been waiting for. She underwent emergency dental surgery, began eating nutritious meals, and slowly started to recover.

Now, Ella spends her days resting on soft beds, exploring the ranch, and enjoying the company of her rescuers.

“She loves curling up in soft beds, enjoying fresh homemade meals, and trotting happily around the yard finally living the life she always deserved,” the team shared on Instagram.

The dog who once had no one now lives surrounded by love. Ella’s story shows how compassion can rewrite even the saddest story. She’s finally safe and home for good.
