To most dogs, October means extra noise, odd smells, and strange figures at the door.
But to this mini dachshund, the season became something entirely different, something she couldn’t stomach.
The owner watched as the dog would stop dead in her tracks near decorations, jump at flickers of light, and refuse to cross thresholds she used to love. The change felt real, not just silly.
They tried distraction, treats, even encouragement, but nothing worked.

As time gets closer to Halloween, many people are preparing the decorations for it, and so has this dog owner, named Melissa Riesenberg.
However, while she prepared a few things, she noticed that her dog, Zoe, had a strange reaction to something that was in a small basket.
She started barking at it, so Melissa decided to check what it might be. Who knows what could cause such an intense reaction in this dog.
Melissa took a cushion out of the basket only to realize that this was upsetting her dog for some reason. It was a Halloween cushion that looked like it had a carved pumpkin face.
Shockingly, the dog immediately ran back after she pulled the cushion out. She didn’t know what to make of this dangerous enemy.
Meanwhile, Melissa couldn’t contain her laughter. This was just so funny to her. How can something like a cushion spook dogs?

Well, when you have such a formidable foe in front of you, anyone can get scared. I mean, it’s a Halloween cushion. That’s spooky enough.

Yeah, something tells me that these Florida owners will also have to keep that cushion as far away from their dog as possible. There is just no way she is getting used to it.
