We all know that dogs can be more clever than most people give them credit for. They are able to learn a lot of things pretty fast, but where is the limit?
I have always wondered about that, and pups always continue to surprise me with what they are able to learn and achieve.
Some dogs can do pretty complex tasks with little to no effort, and this is a pretty big deal. It definitely highlights how much we underestimate them.
This girl from New York claimed on TikTok that she taught her dogs to play Uno, but that information was useless without proof, so she provided it.
Wait, They Can Really Play?

When you think about playing UNO, normally, you’d like to invite your friends and you’d sit and enjoy the game for hours.
Well, some would enjoy it. Either way, it’s how we typically imagine a game night with UNO. However, this New York owner, named Haley Deecken, had a different idea.
She wanted to play UNO, so she decided to train her dogs to do so. It’s hard to convince people that you actually taught them to play the game, so she posted video as proof.
In the video, we can pretty clearly see that Haley is in an intense game where she dropped a plus two-cards to her pup, and then he responded by barking.
It was clear that he was not happy with having more cards. They continued this process for a while and it’s just hilarious to see how well they know the game.

Haley explains that she taught them how to play by only playing with two colors, which are blue and yellow, since those are the colors dogs see the best.
She would train them how to play properly by giving them treats whenever they got the cards right. She would then use more challenging colors.
Haley noticed that they struggled a bit with red and green, but they were surprisingly pretty good at distinguishing them most of the time.
She also notes how her dogs don’t really understand the rules, but they are good at matching colors and that is enough for this version of UNO.
Shocking Reaction On TikTok

After posting the video on TikTok, everyone was completely surprised by the dog’s ability to play UNO, and the comments were just hilarious.
One person commented: “WAIT STOP WHY ARE THEY ACTUALLY GETTING ANGRY”
Well, I don’t know about you, but I would get angry too if someone threw the plus two card in my face.
Another person said: “First of my bloodline to see dogs playing uno WHAT?!”
I know, right? It’s almost surreal, but then again, dogs were always great at subverting our expectations.

Lastly, somebody commented: “BEO WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TEACHING THEM AT THIS POINT.”
I would also be a little worried about it. They might become too intelligent for their own good and who knows what will happen then.
And it’s not the only game they are good at. Duncan is great at Tic-Tac-Toe and Splash… well, he is great at taking other people’s wallets out of their pockets; a pickpocketing artist.
These dogs are really brilliant and the video perfectly encapsulates how much dogs can do when they are motivated and trained properly.
