Heartbreak As Mama Dog Ends Up Alone In Georgia Shelter After Her Only Surviving Puppy Moves To Foster Home

Heartbreak As Mama Dog Ends Up Alone In Georgia Shelter After Her Only Surviving Puppy Moves To Foster Home

Lily was found on the streets of Georgia, and brought to the Fulton County Animal Shelter.

The staff was heartbroken to see her looking at them with sad eyes as if she was pleading with them to lend her a helping hand.

They didn’t know her backstory and were determined to help her get a second chance at life.

When the shelter staff took Lily to the vet, they didn’t imagine that they were in for a surprise.

Her scheduled spaying procedure had to be canceled because the vet discovered that she was heavily pregnant and in active labor.

Giving Birth In A Shelter Kennel

The staff desperately searched for a foster who could take Lily home and help her give birth. Unfortunately, nobody answered their pleas and the doggo had to remain at the shelter.

The Georgia shelter staff was brokenhearted because she had to give birth at the shelter. It was a sad experience and there was a higher risk of infection.

Sadly, out of Lily’s four puppies, only one survived.

The little pup needed a foster mom so Traci Fcas, a long-time shelter volunteer posted a plea on Facebook, asking for someone who could step in.

“Now only 1 pup is alive and it needs a bottle baby foster!! Please help!!” Fcas wrote on Facebook.

Fortunately, a kind woman learned that Lily’s pup needed around-the-clock care and decided to help.

The staff was relieved because the pup was in excellent hands, but they were brokenhearted for the mama dog who was left alone in her narrow kennel.

Lily curled up on the floor, looking dejected. Her eyes reflected her sadness and confusion.

On top of everything, the dog was exhausted, and she badly needed a peaceful home where she could properly heal.

Hope For A Better Future

Sadly, nobody offered her a way out of her lonely kennel.

The kind-hearted staff and volunteers tried their best to cheer the dog up and fill her heart with hope. They visited her, talked to her and offered her treats.

Despite going through quite an ordeal, Lily was gentle and timid. She accepted the treats and wagged her tail as if she wanted to thank them for their kindness.

Luckily, Lily’s luck changed. Fcas posted a Facebook update, announcing that the doggo was placed in a trial adoption. She will spend some time with the family in order to see whether it is the right fit.

We all hope that this is the happy ending that Lily craved. The doggo deserves to turn a new leaf and start the happiest chapter of her life.
