They say dogs are social beings, but some of these four-legged sweethearts truly blow me away. Not only do they love to make friends, but they also take steps on their own to ensure their social circle isn’t shrinking.

Then please, let me introduce you to Mako, a South Carolina dog who’s taken the internet by storm with his incredible social intelligence.
Every day, Mako shows up at his neighbors’ doorstep as a confident, sweet boy with one simple request: to hang out with their dog. The video captured by the neighbors’ porch camera stole everyone’s hearts!
Hey Neighbor, Can Leonard Come Out To Play?
Upon Mako’s first visit, Erica and Jason, the owners of Leonard, and Mako’s neighbors, were stunned. Did this dog actually come to ask for permission to hang out with his buddy? It was so adorable!
Then, it simply became a normal routine for everyone. Mako would regularly show up, waiting for his neighbors to check the ring camera, which really wouldn’t take longer than a few seconds. Then, as soon as they opened the door, he and Leonard would frantically run away to the neighborhood to play.
“Mako and Leonard are best friends,” the Ring’s post reads.
“Everyday after the humans finish work, Mako comes to our door to ask if Leonard can come out to play,” Erica elaborated in the post.
This time was no different. It was afternoon, and Mako’s owners had just arrived home from work, which only meant one thing: it was time to pay Leonard a visit!
The pup slowly walked toward the door, waiting for Leonard to come out. However, after a few minutes, nothing happened. The camera caught Mako bowing his head in sorrow and turning around to leave.
Then, he heard a well-known noise. It was Jason letting his best bud out! Within seconds, Mako changed his demeanor and wagged his tail. He almost couldn’t contain his excitement. It was a moment of pure joy.
In the final moments of the video, the ring camera shows Mako and Leonard finally reuniting with each other. After a brief sniff, like saying “Hey, I didn’t see you in hours!,” the two frantically ran off as if they were trying to run away from everyone.
Given their level of enthusiasm, there’s no doubt they had a lot to catch up on! So, can you blame them?

It was just lovely seeing Mako share such a special bond with his neighbors and their dog. While he’s normally a social butterfly, Mako also picks Erica and Jason for being so nice to him. And, that’s truly a gift you can’t buy with money.
