Dogs are one of the purest and kindest animals in this world. They can make almost anyone feel good, and they can make friends with anyone.
However, that doesn’t mean that they are above manipulation. In fact, I have my pup pull a guilt-trip move on me quite a few times.
When he would break something, he just expected me to brush it off when he gave me the puppy eyes. Well, I have to say that that kind of manipulation usually works.
However, some other owners were wiser than I was in those moments, and they caught on to the dog’s trap. Something similar happened to this owner from New York, and that’s what we will talk about in this story.
She’s Trying The Guilt Trip
After Amanda’s mom decided to take their dog to the daycare in New York, she didn’t quite expect the reaction she received from the dog.
Apparently, the pup looked really sad because she knew one of her moms would leave her for a few hours. Even though she got to play with other dogs, that made her sad.
She sent the pictures to her daughter, and Amanada was shocked to see the dog’s sad face. She was giving her mom puppy eyes, so she wouldn’t leave.
At first, Amanda fell for her dog’s ploy, and she told her mom to go back and take her home, but after a while, it started to make sense.
She just wanted to go to work with Amanda’s mom, but she couldn’t let her, so this was a clever manipulation tactic. They know better than to let her control them like that.
And, it’s not the first time she has done this. She loves to try and manipulate her owners by tilting her head down and then looking up. I assume it’s the method that worked the most so far.
A Hilarious Moment
After the family caught this moment, they just thought that it was hilarious, so Amanda posted the clip on her TikTok channel.
Normally, they knew that it was going to get some attention, but the clip just exploded in popularity. It received hundreds of thousands of views, and many people shared Amanda’s sentiment about the situation.
One person commented: “As a doggie daycare worker if I saw your pup at daycare especially that last pic I would drop everything to love on her.”
I think that’s what they are counting on when they give us the puppy face. It’s just a manipulation tactic, and it’s important not to fall for it.
Another person said: “I was not prepared for the last pic!! MY SHAYLA”
Well, you are not the only one. Many people share this sentiment, and I am not surprised that this dog has learned to be a great actress.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Aw, as someone who works in the petsmart pet hotel i would never send my dog there. Red collar means she is not allowed in group play so she just sits in thar room all day long.”
Well, that’s really not true in all cases. For this dog, the people who worked there spent an entire day playing with her, and they gave her a lot of toys and treats.
Amanda could tell that she was happy because she always came home with zoomies, and that’s all that matters.
