Sad Dog From Indiana Kept Waiting For Her Family On Porch Not Knowing They Abandoned Her

Rain was convinced her family loved her and that they would never break her heart until the day when everything changed.

What seemed like a regular day turned into the worst day of Rain’s life when her owners packed their stuff and moved out, leaving her all alone.

At first, the dog refused to believe that they had abandoned her. She thought that they left their Indiana home for a short time and that they would come back.

As time went by, Rain became more sorrowful. She kept wondering why the only family she ever knew gave her up so easily.

A kind woman named Tracy, who noticed Rain desperately waiting outside her home, felt brokenhearted.

She approached her and fed her. The woman took a photo of her and posted it on Facebook, hoping that someone would help her.

Taylor Bullock, the founder of Happy Tails Animal Rescue in Terre Haute, Indiana, stumbled on the Facebook post about Rain.

She was moved by her situation and couldn’t stop thinking about her. Bullock kept refreshing the post and checking if there were any updates about her.

When the kind woman saw that there were no updates about the pup, even several hours later, she took action.

She drove to the family address to save her. Once she arrived and saw Rain waiting for her family on the porch, Bullock felt devastated.

The doggo was dirty. Her ears were frost bitten, and she had sores on her body.

When Rain saw Bullock approaching her, she felt glad that someone had come to her aid. The rescuer could tell that she was a sweetheart.

The dog wanted to get back to her family, and she refused to leave the porch. Rain kept going to the front door, hoping that Bullock would let her in.

The rescuer didn’t know how long Rain had been on her own.

She talked to the neighbors and learned that they noticed the doggo wandering around her previous home for several days. However, her owners had moved out a month ago.

Rain curled up in Bullock’s lap. The rescuer cuddled her and made her feel safe.

Feeling Safe At Last

While she sat with Rain outside her former home, Bullock kept searching for a foster who could take her in.

Fortunately, an amazing foster named Candice stepped in and offered to foster Rain.

Bullock took her home, gave her a bath, and dewormed her.

That night, there was a storm. The pup felt anxious and didn’t want to stay in her crate, so she slept on the couch with her rescuer.

That’s when Rain knew that she was safe.

She was scanned for a microchip, and she didn’t have one. She was estimated to be around two to three years old.

In the morning, Rain moved into her foster home. She was glad to meet other foster dogs who welcomed her and made her feel part of the pack.

Her foster mom is delighted with the pup’s personality and her wonderful house manners. She is convinced that she will make a wonderful pet.

“She is house trained and doesn’t seem to mind kitty cats. She is the best girl. Whoever adopts her will be getting one amazing baby,” Candice wrote on Facebook.

Rain hopes to find a wonderful family who will give her the love she craves so badly. I’m certain that she’ll find her happiness very soon.
