Sarah Foster, who lives in Houston, Texas, has always adored dogs. But her love for them truly deepened when she began pet-sitting a pup. That experience sparked something in her, and she knew it was time to bring one home for good.
She asked the owner about the breeder and reached out to him directly. The breeder had originally planned to keep a Cane Corso named Blaze for breeding, but Sarah was so drawn to her that he agreed to let her adopt her.
Blaze became Sarah’s first dog, and she welcomed her into her life when she was just 12 weeks old. Not long after, she gave a forever home to another Cane Corso named Sage.
Sage was in poor health and struggled to gain weight. The breeder asked Sarah to keep him updated on her condition. After Sage recovered, Sarah continued sending photos of both dogs every few months. But one response from the breeder caught her completely off guard.
A Photo That Changed Everything
Sarah felt a deep sense of gratitude toward the breeder whose dogs had transformed her life. Sending updated pictures every six months felt like the least she could do.
The breeder genuinely cared about his dogs, especially after one had barely survived. His replies were usually simple: thumbs up and praise for their progress.
But one day, his response was different. He sent Sarah a photo of another dog, and it nearly brought her to tears.
In the TikTok clip she posted, via @trisarahhhtops, Sarah shared that the breeder had sent her a picture of Blaze’s mother, pointing out how much she resembled her daughter. When Sarah compared the two, she was overwhelmed.
“I send her breeder an updated picture each year. His response yesterday wrecked me.. Its never occurred to me that dogs can resemble their family too,” Sarah wrote in the clip.
She hadn’t thought about it before, but the realization that dogs also have mothers who are separated from them hit her deeply.
