Every puppy should get to grow up somewhere safe, surrounded by warmth, care, and people who truly want the best for them.
But too many young dogs start their lives inside shelters, relying on staff and volunteers for every small piece of comfort they can get.
That was the situation Mason and his littermates faced after arriving at BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions in Houston, Texas.
The tiny pups were scared, so they huddled together in their kennel, leaning on each other for courage while they waited for someone to see them.

Now Mason and his brothers and sisters are safe, cared for, and starting fresh. They finally get to do normal puppy things, like eating well, resting without fear, and learning to trust gentle hands.
