Who says rescue dogs don’t come with hidden gifts?
Meet Arabella, a sweet Boxer mix who has been wowing the SFC Virginia staff in Fredericksburg, Virginia with a quirky skill that nobody saw coming.
While many shelter pups win attention with cuddles and kisses, Arabella had another strategy in mind to stand out.
Discovering Arabella’s Love For Plush Toys

When she first arrived from a shelter in Western Virginia, Arabella was anxious and overwhelmed. She urgently needed a calm forever home where she could be the only dog, since the noise of the kennels and the presence of other dogs frightened her deeply.
“She is stressed out with the sights and sounds of the other dogs in our HQ, and is in need of swift placement in a home environment,” the SFC team said.
Weeks passed, and no adopters came forward, which meant more time spent in temporary care at the Fredericksburg facility. Slowly, she gained a little confidence, showing she could relax when surrounded by trusted people.
That’s when the staff noticed something unforgettable.
Arabella had discovered a deep fondness for plush toys, parading around with them proudly clenched in her mouth. But even that wasn’t enough, she set herself a personal challenge, trying to cram as many toys as possible into her mouth at once.
Setting A Record Nobody Expected

At first, Arabella could manage to hold three plushies at one time, an impressive feat on its own. Then came the day she surprised everyone by pushing her record even further.
During a visit to Thunder 104.5 WGRX Radio with SFC volunteer Kat, Arabella amazed the audience by showing off her special skill. Kat happily explained that this playful girl had managed to carry five, sometimes even six, plush toys at once.
“Arabella is just the best girl. She’s four and a half years old. She is amazing with people. She prefers to be the only animal in your home, so if you’re looking for that one dog that you just want to spoil for the rest of her life – she is your girl for sure,” said Kat, the volunteer from SFC for Thunder 104.5 WGRX.
Hoping For A Home Of Her Own
Although the staff at SFC adore Arabella, they know she needs much more than the love of a shelter. With her sensitive temperament, spending too long in that environment has been stressful for her, and she is more than ready for a permanent family.

With her hilarious plush toy talent and her endlessly sweet personality, the team is certain she would bring joy to any household lucky enough to adopt her. She might not bark the loudest or demand the spotlight, but she knows how to return affection with all her heart.
Her forever people must be out there somewhere, and the staff are hopeful they will find her soon.
Until then, PupViners, remember this: you can’t buy love, but you can always rescue it.
