Witnessing cruelty or neglect toward animals can be deeply disheartening. Far too often, people turn a blind eye, forgetting that animals depend on us for compassion and care.
In this case, a poor dog was struck by a car, and instead of stopping to help, the driver simply sped away, leaving her injured and helpless on the roadside.

The pup, now given the name Inky, was clinging to life with everything she had. She was clearly determined to fight. But soon, her rescuers learned something that changed everything.
Inky’s Dad Appears
Inky wasn’t a stray after all—she had an owner. When he heard what had happened, he rushed to the clinic, devastated by the accident.
Seeing his beloved dog in such a state broke him. He admitted that he didn’t have the financial means to cover the expensive medical care she needed, but promised he’d do whatever he could to support her.
The rescue team reassured him they would help shoulder the costs, ensuring that finances wouldn’t stand in the way of Inky’s chance at survival.
Her owner told them her real name was Tulum and revealed that she was his whole world. It was still difficult for him to process that his sweet companion had been injured so severely.
Tests confirmed his fears: Tulum’s spine was fractured, leaving her paralyzed. She was immediately placed on strong medication to ease the pain.
Holding Onto Hope
The veterinary team explained that surgery might give Tulum a chance at recovery, but they needed time before moving forward. Everyone held onto hope that this brave pup would get her shot at healing.
Finally, there was good news—surgery was possible. The only hurdle was finding a specialty hospital capable of performing it quickly.
The rescuers wasted no time. Within days, they arranged for Tulum to be transferred to a hospital equipped for the delicate procedure.
Though her future is uncertain, what’s clear is that Tulum isn’t fighting alone anymore. She has her loving dad by her side and a team of rescuers who refuse to give up on her.
