All dogs deserve to enter the world with love and care. None should ever endure cruelty or heartbreak.
Izzy, a pregnant dog, was abandoned by her owner and left to fend for herself on the streets.
She gave birth to six puppies after finding refuge on private property. Instead of kindness, Izzy and her newborns were met with abuse.
One tiny pup, Cody, suffered a serious head injury from the mistreatment.
His terrified mother could do nothing but hope that kind people would intervene and save her little one.
Racing To Get The Family Help

When compassionate people came across the struggling canine family, they immediately contacted Rescue Row, a non-profit organization based in Texas.
Rescuers arrived quickly and were heartbroken by the condition of Izzy and her pups.
“Izzy is completely emaciated. She is rightfully afraid of people, and falls to her back as soon as she is approached. She is broken and mentally drained, but still sweet as ever. We can’t even begin to think about what she has been through,” Rescue Row wrote in a Facebook post.
The family was moved to foster care, where they finally received comfort and safety.
Cody, however, was in critical shape. The rescue rushed him to Panther Creek Animal Hospital in Little Elm, Texas.

At just four weeks old, he was too weak to lift his head and weighed only one pound.
Dr. Kim and the veterinary staff gave him urgent treatment.
Once he stabilized, Cody went to a foster home, where his caregiver carefully administered fluids throughout the day to keep him strong.
Fighting For Cody’s Life

Although Cody showed improvement at first, his health declined again after a few days. He was barely able to breathe.
His rescuers, devastated but determined, hurried him back to Dr. Kim. The medical team worked tirelessly to keep him alive.
The pup was dangerously dehydrated, so they placed him on an IV drip. To everyone’s relief, Cody soon began responding and showed signs of strength.

He remained hospitalized for five days. Each night, Dr. Kim personally took him home to watch over him.
His foster family visited daily, encouraged by the progress they saw.
Cody tried to walk despite stumbling repeatedly, never losing his will to fight.
Slowly but surely, he regained stability, learning to stand and take small steps again.
A Brave Pup Finds Joy

Ten days after being rescued, Cody returned to his foster home, where he was surrounded with affection.
His foster dog siblings welcomed him warmly, helping him feel secure and loved.
Day by day, his mobility improved, and soon he began to enjoy toys, playing happily for the first time.

Because trauma had left him blind in his right eye, Cody underwent surgery to have it removed.
The procedure went smoothly, and Cody made a full recovery afterward.
He had already captured the hearts of Dr. Kim and his family, who decided they could never part with him.

Cody officially joined their home, thrilled to live a life filled with the love he always deserved.
Izzy and her other pups were also adopted into families who promised to cherish them forever. Thanks to rescuers and kind adopters, the once-broken family is now thriving.
