Puppy Found Abandoned In A Public Restroom Unable To Walk

It usually takes a lot for me to be upset over something; however, seeing small puppies abandoned by the people they trusted the most is one thing that always makes me sad.

This is an issue that needs to be addressed more, as it’s just tragic how many dogs are left on their own to die.

In this story, we will talk about a puppy who was abandoned in a public restroom in Florida, on his own, when he was just five weeks old.

Hugo’s Story

When Hugo was first found, he was with his siblings; however, his rescuers immediately noticed that there was something wrong with him.

Karey J. Burek told The GeoBeats Animals: His two sisters were perfectly normal and he couldn’t walk. He couldn’t use his back legs.

However, he was lucky, as Karey is a medical foster from Florida and she takes care of dogs who have serious injuries or some form of paralysis.

She decided that Hugo would stay with her until it was time for him to find his forever home.

During the very first week of living with her, Karey noticed that Hugo started having seizures, so she had to take him to a neurologist.

They established that the dog had a spinal inflammation, which was the root cause of his seizures.

Due to his many issues, Karey was not sure if he would survive or not. He had neuro and immune problems, which made it really difficult for him to live a normal life.

Amazing Improvements

However, this didn’t stop her from giving him the best treatment possible, and it worked magnificently.

She said: Everything that’s wrong with him is what I think is right with him because it makes him who he is.

As time went on, his health improved significantly, and he can now run almost like a normal dog.

Despite having to overcome so many hurdles, nothing ever changed about Hugo. He still maintained his cheerful personality and the people in his life just love him for it.

Karey said: People get to meet him and see him and understand even though he’s a little bit different and has mobility challenges, he’s just a hundred percent love and it’s okay to be different.

Even though she had only signed up to foster Hugo, their bond is unbreakable and she just can’t imagine her life without him.

Seeing the two of them together is just heartwarming. Even though his life expectancy is shorter than other dogs, this does not stop Karey from making his life better every day.

She is content with giving him the best chance possible, so he could continue having fun exploring and being around the people he loves most.
