I was really surprised to learn that dogs can like certain types of human music. I had a dog for a good part of my life, and it never occurred to me to see if he liked it.
It’s just one of those things that never really pops into your head until very later in life. They not only like some of our music, but they also enjoy it when their owner sings to them.
This was an even bigger surprise for me. When owners sing for their pups, it’s soothing in a way, and most dogs like to fall asleep like this, or it just helps them relax.
Something similar happened to a woman from Ohio when she realized that her pup was mad at her, so she tried a clever tactic to get her to calm down.
A Clever Plan
Kathie has spent the better part of her life taking care of dogs, and she became an expert at dealing with some of the problems that arise from that.
In fact, she has four dogs in her home and their names are: Rosie, Jazmine, Frankie, and Jonathan.
When Kathie realized that her sweet pup, Rosie, got mad at her for something, she tried calling out her name, but to no response.
Rosie was not budging. So, her mom tried out a clever tactic. Since she was a puppy, Rosie has had a favorite song: “You Are My Sunshine”.
She loved it whenever her mom sang this for her, as it would calm her, so this was one of her big weaknesses. At that moment, Kathie started singing for her.
Even though Rosie was still not moving, her tail started wagging, and this basically betrayed her. It seems that she couldn’t contain her excitement despite the fact that she was mad.
At one point, Rosie even gave her mom a side-eye to explain that her tail wagging had nothing to do with her being happy to hear the song, but Kathie knew that didn’t matter.

Because this whole situation was really funny for this owner from Ohio, she thought it would be great if she uploaded it to her TikTok channel.
Considering she posts a lot of dog videos on this platform, it should come as no surprise that this video exploded in popularity.
One person commented: “That’s a fierce side eye. She’s thinking don’t you dare sing my song… Ah! Dammit!”
It looked like she was warning her owner about it. She couldn’t contain her excitement, but she still tried to pretend that she was mad at her.
Another person said: “Why are you forcing her to feel something she doesn’t want to feel right now.”
It’s simple. Kathie realized that Rosie tried to eat the baby bunnies. She wouldn’t let her, and now Rosie is mad. Kathie just wants to apologize, but she also can’t have the bunnies.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Just proves how pure dogs really are to us humans.. cuddles definitely are in order.”
Yes, once Rosie cools off, she deserves some cuddles as comfort. I mean, even if what she wanted to do was wrong, she still deserves some understanding at least, and cuddles are the best way to show it.
All jokes aside, I was really surprised to see how Rosie responded to music, and it showed me that I still have so much to learn about dogs. They are always full of surprises.
