A North Carolina canine mom named Meadow made national headlines with her 15 amazing bundles of joy she recently delivered!
This amazing Great Dane gave birth and, to everyone’s surprise, set a whole new record in the process! According to the rescue, this was the largest litter that they had seen in their three years of operating.
And, Meadow is just the greatest doggo mom ever!
Shocking Surprise
According to Nicole Kincaid, the director of Perfectly Imperfect Pups, a foster-based rescue from Raleigh, North Carolina, Meadow didn’t have such a glamorous start in life. In fact, this two-and-a-half-year Great Dane arrived at the rescue after “an unsteady past.”
She was taken in as a pregnant dog, and just two days later – she delivered 15 amazing babies! Her story soon made national news, as this was the largest litter this North Carolina rescue had ever seen.
Meadow had 3 girls and 12 boys, all healthy and adorable!
Shari Wilson, Meadow’s foster mom, is just happy that this Great Dane was successfully rescued, and now she has the chance to enjoy her momma experience in a safe place.
All puppies are taken care of and fed around the clock (and supplemented with a bottle in between meals), and even though the whole process is quite exhausting, Wilson is happy to help!
“Everyone’s gaining weight, everyone’s eating. They’re all doing really well,” says Shari.
The whole PIP crew is so happy to see Meadow’s babies all in excellent shape and thriving. When the time comes, all of the puppies will be taken care of and sent to their forever homes, but for now, the staff wants to make sure they get all the care they need.
Looking For A Furever Home
Kincaid says that she found Meadow on a local social media site. She was being given away, and she immediately rushed to save this amazing mom. However, Meadow was passed to somebody else before she even got the chance to meet her.
Only a couple of days later, she was contacted by the same people who asked her if her organization could take Meadow in – and Kincaid was more than happy to do so!
Sadly, before she even got to Perfectly Imperfect Pups, Meadow had five different families and not a single one could provide her with a steady home.
After she’s done nursing her babies, the plan is to find Meadow a forever home and a family who would take care of her the way she truly deserves.
Since the moment her story made national headlines, the rescue has been receiving food packages and donations for Meadow and the pups from people all over the country.
The entire team is so grateful for such a wonderful response from the community, especially knowing that taking care of 15 puppies that need food, supplements, and medical care is quite expensive.
“If you’re able to donate, anything is welcomed. Monetary donations, food donations, we can use whatever people are willing to give,” says Shari.
We hope that the PIP crew will continue doing such an amazing job saving doggos in need, and that Meadow and her pawesome family will soon find a family they could call their own!
