Samantha used to have a loving home and an owner who adored her. It was a dream come true.
Sadly, her world turned upside down when her beloved owner suffered a stroke and could no longer take care of her. Her owner’s family made a heartbreaking decision and surrendered Samantha to a shelter in Los Angeles, California.
The ten-year-old dog didn’t know why her owner gave her up.
Feeling sad, she curled up in her shelter kennel and hoped that this was all a nightmare that she would soon wake up from.
A Second Chance At Happiness
A volunteer at the shelter contacted A Purposeful Rescue, a rescue that saves dogs who are at risk of being put down. When she told them about Samantha and sent them her intake photo, the rescuers felt sorrowful.
They rushed to the Los Angeles shelter and pulled her out.
Samantha was overjoyed to be free again. While she was leaving the shelter, she couldn’t stop wagging her tail.
Kimberly and her husband, regular fosters for the rescue, fostered her. They showered her with love and Samantha settled in immediately.
Since the doggo had masses all over her body, she underwent surgeries and had them removed.
During her recovery, her foster family was by her side pampering her with care.
Gradually, the doggo recovered. She enchanted her family with her affectionate nature. She turned out to be an absolute love bug.
It was evident that Samantha was deeply cherished and loved in her previous home.
She adores her foster parents and wants to spend all her time with them. She formed a strong bond with her foster dad.
“She has a lovely relationship with my husband. She’s like, I’m ready to give you kisses and hugs and I’m not scared of your affection at all and that’s just like another testament to how loving she is,“ Kimberly told GeoBeats Animals.
Cuddling with her fosters is not the only way that Samantha expresses her love. She loves gazing into their eyes and maintaining soft eye contact with them.
Hoping To Find A Place To Call Home
It’s impossible not to notice Samantha’s zest for life. She loves rolling in the grass and dancing with the biggest smile on her face.
Her foster family is impressed with her and they consider her the perfect dog. She is sociable and loves everyone she meets.
“Samantha really is the perfect dog. She loves children, she loves other dogs, she likes cats. She is friends with everybody. There is not a grumpy bone in her body,“ Kimberly added.
The adorable senior dog is available for adoption through A Purposeful Rescue.
Although she enjoys her life in her foster home, Samantha longs to find a place to call home. She can’t wait to meet her forever family and give them all her love.
