Arizona Family Sees Their Dog Staring At A Hotel Room Closet And Realizes She Has A Game In Mind
From playing hide-and-seek in Arizona hotel rooms to teaching her wild half-sister how to swim, this clever dog proves that true family balance is all about teamwork.
A Creative Way To Play

When you are stuck inside a hotel room in Arizona, a standard game of fetch is practically impossible. But for one clever dog named Solveigh, a little lack of space was just an opportunity for a new game.
Her family decided to start playing hide-and-seek with her ball instead. They would put her out in the hallway so she couldn’t see what they were doing.
Then, they would tuck the ball away in a drawer or a cupboard and tell her to come find it. No matter where they hid the toy, Solveigh was always up for the challenge.
A Special Connection From The Start

Solveigh was a very special dog to her owner right from the beginning. She was part of the very last litter her owner had.
There was just something about the sweet puppy that stood out. As her owner recalled, Solveigh simply seemed to speak to her.
It wasn’t long before another puppy captured the heart of someone else in the family. The owner’s middle son fell madly in love with a pup named Taylor.
Two Inseparable Half-Sisters

As it turned out, Solveigh and Taylor were actually half-sisters. When they were young, Taylor would climb into a box just to play with Solveigh.
Right from the get-go, the two puppies formed an incredibly tight bond. They quickly became an inseparable pair in the household.
Even as they grew, their connection only deepened. However, their personalities couldn’t have been more different.
The Wild Child And The Calm Sister

Taylor developed a reputation for being on the wild side. She was full of energy and wasn’t always the most obedient dog in the house.
Solveigh, on the other hand, was much more reserved in how she behaved. She was the calm, steady presence in the family.
Their owner believes this stark contrast in their personalities is exactly why they are so connected. They perfectly balance each other out.
Keeping Things Under Control

Because Taylor is so high-energy, she often gets overly excited about everyday things. She loves to jump and bark loudly at the television.
When Taylor gets too worked up, Solveigh steps in to help. The calm sister will actually pull Taylor down away from the screen.
It’s as if Solveigh is telling her sister to take it down a notch. She naturally acts as the peacekeeper of the house.
A Reluctance To Swim

Their differences extended to the great outdoors as well. For a long time, Taylor absolutely refused to swim.
She simply didn’t love the water and preferred to stay dry on the sidelines. Solveigh, however, was completely the opposite.
Solveigh would run as fast as her legs could carry her just to launch herself down into the water. She was a natural water bug.
Learning By Example

The family continued to play fetch with Solveigh in the pool. Watching her sister have so much fun eventually sparked something in Taylor.
Slowly but surely, Taylor started getting into the pool to swim, too. Soon, she was jumping in and paddling around just as much as Solveigh.
Now, the two sisters will happily go in and take a lap together for no reason at all. Taylor even playfully steals toys from Solveigh in the water.
One Perfectly Balanced Pack

Recently, the family welcomed a new puppy into the mix. Once again, Solveigh’s gentle nature shined through.
Solveigh is incredibly submissive and sweet with the new addition, acting like a patient teacher for the little one. She guides the puppy just as she guided Taylor.
With their beautifully contrasting personalities, all the dogs complement one another perfectly. As their owner proudly says, it’s a very good pack.
