A tiny South Carolina Frenchie was left alone by the road with a painful skin condition. Thanks to a kind rescuer and her family, he found the healing and love he desperately needed.
An Unexpected Discovery
It was just an ordinary day until one woman spotted something out of place by the side of a South Carolina road. There, sitting all alone, was a tiny French Bulldog puppy.
Finding an abandoned Frenchie was certainly not on her agenda. But looking at the little dog, she knew she couldn’t just walk away.
Hoping it was just a simple misunderstanding, she picked him up and started investigating. She went door to door in the South Carolina area, looking for his owner, but one neighbor confirmed the dog did not belong to them.
A Heartbreaking Theory
With no owner in sight, she decided to take the puppy to the vet to get checked out. It was immediately clear that the little dog was suffering from a skin issue.
The veterinarian had a heartbreaking theory about how the puppy ended up on the street. They suspected that a backyard breeder had abandoned him.
The vet believed the breeder likely saw the puppy’s skin condition, assumed it was something highly contagious, and simply discarded him.
An Immediate Diagnosis
Thankfully, the puppy was now in safe hands. The veterinarian examined him and immediately diagnosed the little Frenchie with a condition known as puppy strangles.
While it looked concerning, the puppy was finally getting the medical attention he so desperately needed.
His rescuer took him home, determined to help him through his recovery. She began the process of nursing the sweet boy back to health.
The Original Plan
At first, the woman had a very clear plan in mind for the puppy. She was not initially thinking of keeping him permanently.
Her goal was simple: get the puppy healthy, give him a safe place to heal, and eventually find him a great forever home.
She treated him like a foster pet, giving him all the love and care he needed while his skin began to clear up.
Healing Day by Day
As the days passed, the puppy’s condition started to improve significantly. His little scabs were visible, but they were clearing up beautifully.
With his health returning, his true personality began to shine through. He started to really come out of his shell.
The family named him Indy, and it wasn’t long before he was fitting in perfectly with their daily routine.
The Golf Cart Turning Point
The family already had two dogs, and both the rescuer and her husband were on the fence about adding a third dog to their pack.
However, Indy had a special trick up his sleeve. Like the rest of their dogs, the little Frenchie absolutely loved going for golf cart rides.
Seeing Indy’s joy on the golf cart was the turning point. It was exactly what won her husband over.
A Change of Heart
The thought of giving Indy away started to weigh heavily on the rescuer’s heart. She realized she did not want him to ever feel abandoned again.
After seeing how well he fit in and how much joy he brought to the household, the couple made a final decision.
They officially decided to keep the little guy, making him a permanent part of their family.
Living the Best Life
Today, Indy is living a life he could have only dreamed of when he was sitting alone by the road. He even gets to head to work with his mom.
The kids absolutely adore him, and he is thoroughly spoiled with treats, including his favorite pup cups.
Looking at his happy face, it’s clear that Indy understands his journey. As his mom says, he knows that they helped him, and he repays them with endless love every single day.
