Zoe and Snoop share an unbreakable bond with their grandmother. When occasional visits just weren’t enough, their family made a massive move to give them the love they craved.
An Unbreakable Bond
For most dogs, family is everything. But for a sweet dog named Zoe and her sibling Snoop, one particular family member stands above the rest.
Their grandmother, Yonkia, is the center of their universe. Whenever she is around, the two pups simply cannot get enough of her attention.
“I absolutely love my grandbabies,” Yonkia shared. The feeling is entirely mutual, with the dogs always looking at her with the most loving puppy-dog eyes.
A Heartbreaking Distance
Originally, the family lived in Texas, which meant they couldn’t see Yonkia as often as the dogs would have liked.
Raven, the dogs’ mom, noticed how deeply Zoe felt the separation. They used to only visit their grandma every once in a while, and the distance was taking a toll.
Zoe would miss her grandmother so much that saying goodbye after a rare visit was completely heartbreaking.
A Life-Changing Move
Seeing how much Zoe longed for her grandmother, Raven knew something had to change. The occasional road trip just wasn’t enough for these devoted pups.
The family made a massive decision for the sake of their dogs’ happiness. They decided to pack up their lives and move from Texas to Georgia.
The entire purpose of the cross-country relocation was simple: to be closer to family so Zoe and Snoop could see their favorite person on a regular basis.
The All-Inclusive Resort
Thanks to the move, the dogs now get to visit Yonkia at least twice a month. These trips have become highly anticipated events.
Raven jokingly calls her mother’s house an “all-inclusive resort” for the dogs, and it’s easy to see why.
While Raven, Zoe, and Snoop are on the drive up, Yonkia is already hard at work. She prepares everything to ensure the dogs feel completely comfortable the moment they step through the door.
An Enthusiastic Welcome
To make the pups feel extra special, Yonkia even sets up their very own bedroom. It’s a true VIP experience for the furry guests.
Once they finally arrive at Grandma’s house, Zoe and Snoop are greeted with the biggest hugs imaginable.
From the second they walk in, all eyes are on Yonkia. As Raven noted with a laugh, “It’s like I’m invisible.”
Breakfast and Cuddles
The pampering begins immediately. For a special breakfast treat, Yonkia makes the dogs homemade pup cups.
After enjoying their delicious breakfast, Zoe and Snoop love nothing more than to cuddle with her on the couch.
There is definitely a bit of sibling rivalry when it comes to getting Grandma’s attention, but she has plenty of love to give them both.
Supervising the Yard Work
The dogs refuse to leave Yonkia’s side, following her everywhere she goes throughout the day.
When she heads outside to do some gardening, Zoe is right beside her, happily sunbathing in the yard.
They also get plenty of special love from Grandpa. Snoop specifically loves to sit and watch Grandpa as he tackles the yard work.
A Five-Star Bedtime Routine
After a long day of love, relaxation, and outdoor supervision, it’s finally time to wind down for bed.
Yonkia gives them one last evening snack before bringing them to their special bedroom and gently tucking them in.
She kisses them goodnight and turns on a night-light so they can have sweet dreams. It is the perfect end to a perfect day.
The Hardest Goodbye
Despite living so much closer now, leaving the “resort” is still incredibly difficult. Whenever it’s time to head back home, Zoe never wants to leave.
Getting the dogs out the door is always a bit of a battle. Raven constantly has to reassure her sweet pup, telling her, “It’s okay, Zoe. We’ll see Grandma again soon.”
Thankfully, because of their family’s selfless move, that promise is always true. In just a couple of weeks, they get to do it all over again.
