It started on a freezing, rainy day when she found a soaking wet puppy shivering in the cold. The tiny dog was so chilled that the rescuer admitted she had never touched a puppy that cold before.
Rushing the freezing animal to the vet, she held the puppy close, desperately trying to raise her body temperature. The veterinarian delivered a sobering reality: just a couple of hours longer in those conditions, and the puppy would not have made it.

Reuniting A Broken Family
After getting the puppy, whom she later named Zeina, to safety, the rescuer couldn’t shake the feeling that she needed to go back. She returned to the rescue site just to make sure no other puppies had been left behind.
When she arrived, locals pointed out another dog nearby, telling her, "There’s the mom." They assured the rescuer that the mother dog had only given birth to one puppy.
Determined to keep the family together, she managed to catch the mother dog, whom she named Pamela. She brought Pamela straight to the vet clinic to see her baby.
The reunion was immediate and incredibly sweet. The two dogs recognized each other instantly, bringing a bright moment of joy to an otherwise stressful day.
A New Challenge In The Shadows
With Zeina and Pamela safely healing in her home and preparing for adoption, the rescuer’s work was far from over. One morning, she spotted another dog in need: a pregnant mama who was wild and completely unapproachable.
The smart mother-to-be had found herself an abandoned house to use as a shelter. Knowing she couldn’t get close enough to touch the dog, the rescuer started feeding her from a distance.
She wanted to ensure the wild mother was strong enough to give birth. Eventually, the day came when the mother gave birth, but the puppies were nowhere to be seen.
Cautiously, the rescuer walked through the eerie, abandoned house. After some searching, she finally heard the faint cries of hungry puppies calling for their mama.
The Tiniest Sibling
Inside the abandoned structure, she counted eight dogs living with their mother. However, one of the puppies had fallen down a little drain and was stuck.
The rescuer quickly pulled the trapped puppy out, realizing she was freezing cold and significantly smaller than her siblings. Her gut immediately told her that something was wrong.

The puppy, whom the rescuer named Fiorella, had a severe birth defect. She was simply too tiny and fragile to overcome the odds stacked against her.
Within 24 hours of being rescued from the drain, little Fiorella passed away while resting on her rescuer’s chest.
"Nothing we could do, other than love her through the process," the rescuer shared. She gave the tiny puppy a tearful, loving goodbye.
A Promise To Fiorella
Devastated by the loss, the rescuer made a solemn vow. She promised Fiorella that she would keep all of her remaining siblings healthy and safe.
To honor that promise, she dedicated herself to the abandoned house. She visited the site twice a day, every single day, to care for the growing family.
She cooked special meals for the puppies and their wild mother, leaving the food where they could safely eat. She even brought veterinary care directly to the abandoned house.
In addition to feeding and medical care, she regularly cleaned the space to ensure the puppies had a sanitary environment to grow up in.
Growing Up And Moving Out
Under her watchful eye, the puppies grew stronger and more adventurous. They started exploring their environment, eager to see the world beyond their makeshift shelter.
