Arizona Farm Dog Locked Onto A Truck Until Her Family Saw Tiny Eyes Underneath

Evie was the kind of dog who noticed everything.

Living on a 300-acre farm in rural Arizona gave the sweet deaf Pit Bull plenty to watch. Rattlesnakes moved through the grass, Gila monsters wandered nearby, and little movements across the property rarely escaped her attention.

So when she fixed her gaze on a broken-down truck, her mom, Allison Thomison, did not immediately think anything was wrong.

The truck was being repaired by Allison’s husband, and at first, it seemed like Evie was simply watching the activity with her usual curiosity. But the longer Allison stayed nearby, the stranger it felt.

Evie would not look away.

There was something about her focus that made the moment feel different from all the other times she had spotted animals around the farm. Eventually, Allison’s curiosity took over, and she walked closer to find out what had captured her dog’s full attention.

An Unexpected Find

Before she even got close, Allison could see exactly what Evie was staring at.

There, nestled under the truck, was a small cat. And to Allison’s surprise, she immediately recognized the little feline.

Just a few weeks earlier, she had noticed a kitten that looked exactly like her cat, Noodle, following him everywhere around the property.

Since Noodle was a neutered male, Allison wasn’t sure if the resemblance was just coincidence or something more.

She decided to call the kitten Mini-Me. Then, as suddenly as he had appeared, Mini-Me vanished, until Evie’s watchful eyes revealed where he had been hiding all along.

Found In An Unusual Hiding Spot

Because the truck’s engine had been removed for repairs, there was plenty of space for a tiny cat to curl up and stay hidden.

Getting him out wasn’t easy. Mini-Me was cautious and had no plans to come quietly.

“He was very spicy … Then he suddenly realized that we were there to help him and we weren’t going to hurt him, so he came out,” Thomison told The Dodo.

Once he realized he was safe, Mini-Me began warming up to Allison’s other three cats. Thomison laughs that Evie’s keen eye for detail is exactly how she ended up with another feline in the family.

But even though Evie was the one who found him, Mini-Me doesn’t seem particularly grateful.

“He swipes at Evie every chance he gets,” Thomison said.

Life On His Own Terms

Mini-Me now enjoys a comfortable life on the Thomison farm, complete with a cozy spot in an air-conditioned barn.

Still, in typical cat fashion, he prefers doing things his own way.

“He prefers his truck. He’s kind of like Oscar the Grouch [with] his little trash can … he just loves being in there,” Thomison concluded.

Thanks to Evie’s curiosity, Mini-Me was discovered safe and sound — proving that even the most unexpected friendships can lead to happy endings.
