In a perfect world, every dog would have a safe, cozy home filled with love, never knowing life on the streets or behind shelter doors. Sadly, real life does not always work that way, and stories like Teddy Crumpleton’s show just how much distance still exists between that dream and reality.
Teddy, a Bulldog, had spent years living happily with his mom and dad. From the outside, everything seemed peaceful and settled until heartbreak entered the picture.
After his mom passed on, Teddy’s world changed in the worst way. The man he had known as his dad made the crushing choice to remove him from his life forever.
A Life Saved By A Compassionate Vet
At just three years old, Teddy lost the woman he adored. Losing her left him heartbroken.
One would expect the man who had been his father to step in and offer comfort. Instead, Teddy’s owner chose to abandon him. Rather than surrendering Teddy to a shelter, he opted for euthanasia.
Teddy was moments away from being put down when a compassionate veterinarian stepped in. The vet refused to perform the euthanasia, saving Teddy’s life.
Thanks to this kind act, Teddy was transferred to Roadog Rescue, a Southern California rescue group dedicated to helping dogs in need.
Teddy’s weight had caused severe breathing problems, and he needed palate surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was successful.
Teddy’s Journey Toward Healing
With the help of the rescue team, Teddy began to lose weight and make both physical and emotional progress.
The staff at Roadog Rescue were thrilled with Teddy’s improvement and shared his story in a video posted on their social media account, @roadogrescue.

The video of Teddy’s journey quickly went viral. People from all over flooded the comments with support and love, hoping he would find a forever home soon.
