How do you even begin to tell a dog that they have to be separated from the person they love most?
That was the heartbreaking situation one woman found herself in when she had to surrender her beloved senior dog, Jackson, to a shelter. The reason was painfully understandable but still devastating: she was preparing for cancer treatment and would need to stay in the hospital.
Knowing that Jackson, her loyal companion for so many years, was now going to an overcrowded shelter where his future was not guaranteed completely shattered her.

When Jackson saw her, he ran straight to her, his tail wagging uncontrollably, and showered her with kisses.
