It is pretty much impossible not to melt when puppies are involved.
That was especially true in North Carolina, where a Great Dane named Meadow captured hearts far beyond her own community after giving birth to a truly remarkable litter of 15 puppies.
At Perfectly Imperfect Pups, a foster-based rescue in Raleigh, the team was stunned. It was not only the sheer size of the litter that amazed them, but also the way Meadow cared for every single tiny newborn with such tenderness.
When staff realized it was the biggest litter the rescue had seen in its three years of operation, they could hardly believe it.
But Meadow’s impact went beyond that number. From the very start, she showed everyone exactly what kind of mother she was, loving, attentive, and completely devoted.
A Startling Arrival Of Joy

Nicole Kincaid, the director of Perfectly Imperfect Pups, explained that Meadow had endured a difficult beginning. At only two and a half years old, she arrived at the rescue with “an unsteady past.”
Just two days after joining the foster program, Meadow delivered 15 healthy puppies, instantly drawing national attention because of the size of her litter.

The newborns included three girls and twelve boys, each in good health. Foster mom Shari Wilson expressed joy at seeing Meadow finally safe and able to experience motherhood in a loving environment.
The puppies receive round-the-clock care, including supplemental bottle feedings between meals to ensure steady growth. While the effort is exhausting, Shari emphasizes it is entirely worthwhile.

“Everyone’s gaining weight, everyone’s eating. They’re all doing really well,” says Shari.
The PIP team focuses on monitoring the puppies’ health and providing constant attention, knowing that eventually, each will transition to a forever home when ready.
Meadow’s Journey Toward Stability

Nicole first heard about Meadow through a local social media post indicating the Great Dane was being given away. She attempted to rescue her but learned Meadow had been passed to another party before she could act.
Days later, those individuals contacted Nicole, asking if the rescue could take Meadow, and she immediately agreed. By then, Meadow had already lived in five different homes, never able to settle.
Once her puppies are fully weaned, the rescue plans to secure a permanent home for Meadow, where she will receive the love and care she has always deserved.

Since Meadow’s story reached national audiences, donations and supplies have arrived from across the country, helping the rescue provide for fifteen demanding puppies.
“If you’re able to donate, anything is welcomed. Monetary donations, food donations, we can use whatever people are willing to give,” says Shari.
Thanks to the dedication of the rescue team and the generosity of supporters, Meadow and her litter now have a strong foundation for a bright future, and soon each puppy will join a loving family of their own.
