Dog daycares can feel like paradise for many pups. They get to hang out with other dogs, join in organized playtime, and soak up plenty of attention from the staff who care for them.
For some, it quickly becomes the highlight of their week. The excitement builds so much that their reactions turn funny without them even trying.
That was the case for a Michigan dog named Chessie when she arrived for another day at her favorite daycare. Her burst of enthusiasm surprised her mom and left everyone around them laughing.
An Entrance No One Saw Coming
The moment Chessie and her mom stepped through the doors of Doggy Daycare and Spa, her joy hit a level she simply could not hold back.
In a single burst of energy, she launched herself over the front counter so she could greet the staff member she loved most.
Her mom stood there wide-eyed, then broke into laughter, stunned by how far her excitement had taken her.
Makenzy Burman, the daycare manager, explained that this type of energy was not unusual for Chessie. She visits several times a week and always seeks her out for a personal hello.
On a typical day, Chessie circles around the desk to greet Burman from the front, but this time her enthusiasm won out and she took the airborne route instead.
Burman did not anticipate that specific move, though she added that she has encountered plenty of dramatic greetings during her time at the facility.
To her, the whole scene was just another reminder of how much the dogs enjoy being there and how safe and loved they feel during their visits.
The Internet Had Plenty To Say
Because the moment was too good to keep to themselves, the staff at Doggy Daycare and Spa uploaded the security footage to Facebook.
It quickly pulled in a wave of attention, and viewers jumped in to react to the unexpected leap.
One person wrote: “The way she nonchalantly moved her coffee tells me she’s a pro at being greeted by the dogs this way.”
This person pointed out something I noticed as well. It really did look like Burman was perfectly accustomed to managing high-spirited canine greetings.
Another commenter added: “How do you know your babies are being cared for without knowing they’re being cared for? They leave mom and jump the counter to give the daycare lady kisses!”
That single remark summed up the whole atmosphere. When dogs show that kind of affection and excitement, it speaks volumes about the care they receive.
