Far too often, dogs are left behind without a second thought. Witnessing such cruelty can make it feel like the world will never change.
But sometimes, hope breaks through the sadness.
Rescuers dedicate themselves daily to saving dogs in need, offering them safety and a chance at a better life. One of those rescuers is Suzette Hall, who received a call about a dog spotted near a bustling California roadway.
She didn’t hesitate.
She Didn’t Waste Time Getting To Him

After being abandoned on a California street, the dog did his best to stay alive despite the dangers surrounding him.
With traffic speeding past and no food in sight, his situation was dire.
A kind stranger had offered him a small meal, which helped him hang on a little longer. But he was clearly in distress, sleeping beside trash bins with nowhere else to go.

He remained near the spot where he was left, seemingly waiting for the person who had deserted him to return.
It’s hard to imagine how anyone could leave a dog like this. He deserved so much more.
That’s when Suzette Hall arrived and saw him for herself. She knew she had to act.
A Careful Plan To Bring Him In

Hall devised a strategy and set up a humane trap.
With help from a friend, they placed food inside a kennel and waited nearby, hoping the dog would feel safe enough to approach.
He was hesitant, unsure if he could trust them. But hunger eventually won out, and the hot dogs proved too tempting to resist.
He stepped inside for a bite, and they were finally able to secure him. Hall felt immense relief knowing he was no longer in danger.

She gently lifted him into her car, and they headed toward a local California shelter. Rain began to fall shortly after they left, making their timing all the more fortunate.
Once he was settled into his temporary space, Hall knew he needed a veterinary checkup as soon as possible.
Though his future remains uncertain, there’s reason to believe he’s on the path to recovery.
And with Suzette Hall watching over him, there’s no doubt he’ll continue to heal and eventually find the loving home he’s always deserved.
