As someone who has owned Dachies in the past, I can confidently say that these dogs are tiny balls of mischief. But that’s exactly what makes them so adorable! Curious, stubborn, and incredibly clever… you just can’t buy that.
But, here’s a hard truth: some Dachies will do whatever it takes to get their way. No lock is strong enough. No corner is safe. And then there’s Howie, a Michigan Dachie who recently left the internet in stitches with his big attitude.
One day, when his owners left him alone in the playpen for the first time, Howie decided it was go time. What the camera captured just an hour later was both shocking and hilarious.
The Owners Definitely Didn’t Expect This
Living with Howie has been a rewarding experience from the beginning.
But, as it turned out, this little boi doesn’t like being alone, even for one bit. In the viral Instagram post captured by a pet camera, Howie is shown playing in his playpen.
While this is not the first time for Howie to be inside a puppy pen, it was the first time for Howie to stay alone there. The result? A carefully devised escape plan!
During the first hour, this Michigan pup found the perfect strategy to release himself: by working patiently to remove the side of the cage.
And he succeeded! Howie was finally outside, and the playpen was completely demolished.
“The playpen lasted a whole hour before it was destroyed,” the video caption reads.
Fortunately, Howie had been properly trained by then and was perfectly able to stay home outside the pen, according to his owner.
“He’s my first puppy, this has been a learning curve for the both of us. This was also not the first time he’s been put in there, I started with 5 minutes and upped it slowly, this was just the first time no one else was home. He is now free to roam around the house and does very well, as he is finally potty trained,” the Michigan owner added in the video description.
Before long, the video went viral on Instagram, reaching thousands of people.
The comment section soon flooded with hilarious comments, mostly about Howie’s well-known “Dachshund DNA.”
“Very much dachshund behavior,” one commenter wrote.
“As a mini dachshund dog owner, I can confirm that No gate crate door will hold them. Ever,” another added.
Living Life One Bark At A Time
His playpen “mischief” aside, it is safe to say that Howie lives his life to the fullest!
This tiny pup goes on adventures, takes boat rides, has delicious pup cups with his owner, and meets new friends every day.
On top of that, Howie just loves pup cups, plushies, and taking cozy naps next to his hoomans.
Howie definitely steals the show wherever he goes, and the truth is: he doesn’t mind one bit! He loves being the center of attention, no matter the way. Cuddles, playpen demolition, anything that puts him in the spotlight!
