Dogs have a special gift for befriending anyone, no matter the species. Their influence on other animals can be stronger than we imagine.
Often, animals that grow up alongside dogs start copying their behavior, and it really should not come as a surprise.
One Tennessee woman adopted a baby goat and brought her home. Her dog could not wait to meet the new arrival, and that moment changed everything.
A Friendship That Blossomed Instantly

When Taylor welcomed a little goat named Elsa, she never expected how well the baby would bond with her dog, Eden. At first, Taylor worried about what might happen.
Eden was a powerful dog, and she feared he might unintentionally hurt Elsa. But that concern quickly faded.
When the two first met, Eden seemed uncertain and hesitant. She did not know how to respond to the new family member, though that feeling did not last.
Taylor told Cuddle Buddies: “Eden never clicked with anyone. She just wanted her own space, but that was just not the case with Elsa.”

Whenever they played, Eden was gentle and protective. She never allowed anything to happen to Elsa. Soon, they became inseparable companions.
Their days were filled with running, chasing each other, or curling up for naps in the house. Eden always kept a watchful eye on her new little friend.
The more time they spent together, the more Elsa began acting like a dog herself. She even learned to walk politely on a leash.
Taylor often took Eden, Elsa, and the other dogs hiking through Tennessee, where the pair enjoyed every moment of their adventures.
Elsa’s Path To A New Life

Although Taylor loved seeing the bond between Eden and Elsa, she knew the little goat also needed to socialize with her own kind.
Elsa was slowly introduced to other goats, and over time, she began spending part of her days outside with them. It took some adjusting, but she managed.
Taylor said: “So, we slowly took Elsa from being inside 24/7 with Eden to slowly going out.“
Still, whenever the family went out on walks, Elsa and Eden remained side by side, as close as ever.

But just when everything seemed perfect, devastating news came. Eden had a tumor, and her time was running short.
Before long, Eden passed away. The entire family was devastated, while Elsa seemed lost in confusion.
She could not understand why her beloved friend no longer came to see her. Without Eden, even her favorite walks felt empty.

To help Elsa heal, Taylor made sure she spent more time with the other goats, and that transition gave her comfort.
She grew more social and blended into the herd, though many of her doglike habits stayed with her. The family cherished those little reminders of Eden.
Taylor said: “Now with Eden being gone, she just holds a special place in our heart.”
