One of life’s greatest accomplishments is finding a dream job. Because as they say, “if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”
This has never been more accurate than in the case of Ziggy, a Washington, D.C., Labrador. He has recently found his life’s passion in what turned out to be the best job ever.
Every morning, Ziggy wakes up with the biggest smile on his face, knowing that the minute he jumps out of the car and enters his “office,” he’ll be in seventh heaven!
The Coolest Assistant Ever
Dominique, a Washington, D.C. resident and the owner of the K9 Aquatic Center is a proud mom of Ziggy and Zeke, known as the Z-boys.
Having owned several dogs in the past who needed pool therapy, she always wanted to create a nurturing place for them and all dogs with therapeutic needs.
“I built the pools that my dogs were dreaming of, and there is nothing more rewarding than seeing dogs having fun and our senior swimmers becoming young pups again,” Dominique said on the Center’s website.
As it turned out, Ziggy, her newest Lab, fell in love with “momma’s business” right off the bat!
In a viral Instagram video, Ziggy, now Dominique’s “personal assistant” is shown arriving at work with his mom, and his enthusiasm is simply unmatched.
The second the car stops, Ziggy jumps out, waiting for Dominique to unlock the Center’s door. Then, he frantically runs to the pool and takes a “greeting jump” into the pool.
As soon as he gets out, he grabs one of the fish toys and jumps again.
Ziggy’s love for swimming is truly something else, and people can’t get enough of his videos.
“Sooo much joy in one body. Dogs are the best creatures on earth,” one commenter wrote.
“I can only imagine how excited he got in the car. People get the door!! This is my pool!! Yippee!! Wait…..my toy….fish…I need just the right one….got it! Back to my favorite pool!! Start swimming with my toy…..ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD!,” another added.
“Everyone should have a happy place like this dog does,” a third commenter wrote.
Ziggy is the epitome of a happy dog. Sure, one of his greatest joys is appearing at the Center in the first hour and using all the benefits of being the first dog in the pool, but Ziggy also loves meeting new friends.
Every day, he has the privilege of meeting new dogs who arrive at the Center for therapy and swimming sessions.
And, Ziggy, naturally a social butterfly, couldn’t be happier to welcome them all!
Living The Dream, Ziggy Style
One thing is for sure: Ziggy is definitely living the dream.
Even when he’s not at work, he and his brother, Zeke, have a broad span of activities with their mom. They walk, enjoy nature, play together, and basically do everything together.
While Zeke is more of a calm dog, Ziggy’s the family’s entertainer — and he takes his role proudly.
Seeing Ziggy and Zeke so happy is a rewarding experience for Dominique, and it’s proof that running the Center has been one of the best decisions ever.
