Pennsylvania Woman Risks Her Life To Rescue Dog From Oncoming Train

As soon as Nina Love, a rescuer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, received a message about a dog abandoned in a park near railroad tracks, she knew there was no time to lose.

She quickly gathered her rescue gear and called on a fellow rescuer and friend who was nearby to help her.

Rescue Mission On The Tracks

When they reached the location, they spotted the dog almost immediately, but catching her proved far more difficult than they expected.

“I followed her for 3 miles down the train tracks, my adrenaline was rushing. I knew the train was coming soon because it passed right before she ran onto them, and trains run every 10 to 15 minutes,” stated Nina.

She knew she was risking her life, but the moment she saw the fear in the dog’s eyes, she realized it was worth it.

I was shaking with fear, but I wanted to save her because I looked into her eyes, and she was crying out for help. She was just scared, so I kept my distance and was patient.

Fortunately, Nina’s friend had the idea to bring along her own dog, Teddy. The abandoned dog perked up when she saw Teddy and began to feel a little safer.

We got low, and my friend talked to her while Teddy walked up. She was hesitant, but my friend held her until I walked up and was able to leash her.

Just then, a train began to approach. With no time to spare, they scooped up the anxious pup and rushed off the tracks.

Seconds after [we captured the dog], the train came, and our adrenaline was so high we didn’t even hear the horn.

She even recorded the entire rescue, letting viewers feel just a piece of the exciting moment.

Nina’s Many Rescues And Advocacy

This wasn’t the first difficult rescue Nina had undertaken.

Over her career, she has saved countless dogs living in desperate conditions across Philadelphia and beyond.

Nina is also an outspoken activist, often responding to urgent calls and posting about the harsh realities faced by strays.

I want to let people know that it’s OK to love animals. We all reside here on Earth and should learn to co-exist together.

Even though not everyone agrees with her outspoken stance, she never lets negativity keep her from helping animals in need.

I’ve faced many challenges due to me being an African American and have [experienced] racial threats because I’m in this field. But I remain strong for them because they need us.

Final Word

Nina is now searching for a foster home for the pup she risked her life to save from the tracks.

She believes that in a loving home, the dog will regain trust in people and discover that kindness still exists in the world.

Good luck!
