Oregon Puppy’s Reaction To Being The Only Dog At Training Class Leaves Internet In Tears

Once you become a dog parent, one thing you just can’t stand is seeing your beloved pet sad.

It really doesn’t matter whether it’s just their hauntingly expressive face showing disappointment over a skipped treat or genuine sadness when they’re under the weather — our hearts sink either way.

Recently, Julia, a dog owner from Oregon, experienced this firsthand when she saw her rescue puppy, Shandy, sitting all alone at a training class. It turned out Shandy was the only dog that showed up that day, and her sad expression was utterly heartbreaking.

“It’s Okay, Shandy”

From the moment she was adopted, Shandy was nothing but a sweetheart. Her enthusiasm and zest for life were truly incredible, and now it was time for Shandy to channel her energy and learn new things — through a socialization class.

Her mom signed her up at Petco for a training class, but as it turned out, they were the only ones who showed up that day. The class that typically hosts up to four dogs was completely empty.

Shandy, who really hoped to meet some new friends that day, was truly heartbroken.

She sat in the training area, waiting for her potential furry buddies to show up, but that never happened. Instead, she remained sitting with the sorrowful expression on her face, as if asking: “Mom, why am I the only dog here?”

Julia, who captured this tear-jerking scene, decided to share it with her TikTok followers.

Before long, the video caption reading: “it’s okay shandy it’s not you 💔it’s them!!!!” was flooded with comments from dog owners who shared their own similar experiences.

“That’s what happened to my baby beans but he graduated,” one person wrote.

Another user joked: “My pup was the only one in his class too! It was sad at first but it was basically a private lesson every time lol.”

Living The Best Life

Even though her socialization class didn’t go as she had planned that day, Shandy definitely didn’t let that affect who she truly is. And she is definitely a social butterfly!

Initially adopted from Street Dog Hero in Oregon, Shandy is the epitome of sass and confidence, according to her mom.

We are so grateful that Street Dog Hero has brought Shandy into our lives! She is full of sass, confidence, and tail wags and is perfect addition to our small family,” Julia said, as reported in a Facebook post

This lively girl is all about expressing her opinions loudly, whether it’s about food, cuddles, or asking her older doggo brother, Max, to play with her.

“She is full of personality and isn’t shy of voicing her opinions, whether that’s begging Max to play another game or letting us know she would like more treats! From zoomies in the yard to cuddle buddies on the couch Shandy and her big brother Max having been getting along like old pals,” Julia added.

Shandy is the perfect companion. She’s already experiencing things like hiking, paddle boarding, and taking exciting city walks. And she loves it all!

Shandy definitely made her family’s life more colorful. With her wagging tail and smiling face, she’s an instant mood booster, and her mom couldn’t be more grateful to have adopted her.

“Life with Shandy is a little louder, a lot more joyful, and I wouldn’t change a thing,” Julia concludes.
