New York Rescuers Were Stunned After Finding Scared Abandoned Dogs Who Wouldn’t Stop Shaking

New York Rescuers Were Stunned After Finding Scared Abandoned Dogs Who Wouldn’t Stop Shaking

When rescuers stumbled upon two abandoned doggy sisters, Kali and Brandi, hiding deep in the woods of North Carolina, they quickly captured them and brought them to safety.

But once admitted to the shelter, both dogs were absolutely terrified. They sat in opposite corners, staring silently at the wall, their eyes clouded with fear.

Sadly, the sisters had ended up in an overcrowded shelter, where their chances of survival were slim. What they desperately needed was someone to pull them out before it was too late.

The shelter staff decided to post a video of Kali and Brandi trembling with fear in their kennel, hoping that it might move someone enough to rescue them.

Sisters Get Rescued

The heartbreaking video was uploaded in July 2015 and quickly went viral, breaking hearts everywhere.

Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, a New York–based organization, saw the video and immediately stepped in to help.

The sisters were transported to the vet, where they were diagnosed with heartworm disease and placed on medication right away.

Because of their extreme fearfulness, rescuers strongly believed they had suffered abuse in their past. They knew the sisters would need patience, rehabilitation, and plenty of love to heal.

Although at first it was thought they were just two years old, it was later discovered that Kali and Brandi were actually six years old.

The rescue arranged for them to live with an experienced foster and trainer, supported by a dedicated team of professionals who worked with them every single day.

Mending Broken Hearts

When the sisters moved into their foster home, they clung to each other for comfort, often seen huddling in corners, hugging tightly. Their unbreakable bond was clear from the start.

Their foster family treated them gently, speaking in calm, soothing voices to reassure them and help them feel secure.

During the first week, Kali and Brandi continued to shy away, still too nervous to accept touch. But thanks to the relentless patience and affection of their foster family and trainers, progress began to show.

Slowly, the sisters started to come out of their shells. They ventured outside, learned how to walk on leashes, and even began enjoying the simple joy of basking in the sunshine.

Their medical treatment worked, and both were cured of heartworm disease.

In time, they began to show their true personalities, affectionate, sweet, and eager to shower their fosters with kisses and demand belly rubs.

Finding A Dream Home

Thanks to the love poured into them by their foster family, Kali and Brandi’s spirits began to heal. By summer 2016, they were ready to find their forever home.

Since they were so deeply bonded, everyone involved in their care insisted that they be adopted together.

Even though they were adorable, it took a while for the right family to come along. But in July 2017, their prayers were finally answered.

A wonderful family met the sisters, fell in love with them instantly, and decided to adopt them both.

Kali and Brandi said goodbye to their devoted fosters and began the happiest chapter of their lives.

At first, they were a little shy around their new parents, but soon they realized how deeply they were loved. From that moment on, they felt completely safe.

Now, Kali and Brandi live their best lives, wagging their tails in pure joy every time they see their family.

From trembling, traumatized sisters hiding in a shelter kennel, they blossomed into happy, secure, and affectionate dogs.

Thanks to the compassion of their rescuers, fosters, and forever family, these two sweet girls finally got the love they always deserved.
