It is almost impossible to imagine the fear and misery those newborn puppies felt after being heartlessly placed in a bag and thrown from a car in Broome County, New York.
Only two weeks old, the tiny babies struggled to escape the bag. Hungry, cold, and missing their mother, all they wanted was comfort, safety, and a chance to be held.
A Good Samaritan spotted the bag on the side of the road, initially assuming it was litter. As they picked it up, they had no idea what surprise awaited inside.
Discovering The Tiny Puppies

When the bag began moving, the resident was stunned. Opening it, they found nine tiny puppies whose eyes and ears had not yet opened.
“Nine adorable puppies were saved after being callously thrown out of a car in a bag. A bystander mistook the bag for garbage, only to find out it was filled with 9 teeny tiny neonatal puppies who are just 2 weeks old. Their eyes and ears hadn’t even opened yet,” The Broome County Humane Society wrote in a Facebook post.
The Good Samaritan quickly fed the puppies and rushed them to The Broome County Humane Society, located in Binghamton, New York.

Upon arrival, a veterinarian examined each puppy thoroughly. Thankfully, despite their terrifying start in life, the little ones were healthy.
The shelter staff, however, could not hide their devastation over the cruelty the puppies endured.

“It’s heartbreaking to think about the cruelty these innocent creatures faced,” the shelter added.
After their checkup, the puppies were moved to a caring foster home.
Safe And Thriving

In their foster home, the puppies received round-the-clock care. Their foster mom cuddled them, lavished them with attention, and provided the love they had been denied.
Under her care, the puppies began to thrive.
“The puppies are all doing excellent! They are receiving an abundance of love and attention from a very experienced foster caretaker who is also a vet tech,” the shelter manager, Amberly Ondria, told Newsweek.
For the first time, the tiny puppies experienced human love and safety.
Once they reach eight weeks of age, the puppies will begin the search for permanent homes. Until then, they will continue to soak up the affection from their foster mom.
Thanks to the quick action of the Good Samaritan, these nine newborn puppies were given a second chance at life and the love they truly deserve.
