Finding a helpless animal inside a trash can is a devastating sight. Yet, such situations are not uncommon, often caused by abusive and cruel owners who resort to horrific solutions.
For most animals, especially infants, being trapped inside a can often leads to the inevitable outcome. Only a few lucky ones ever get to see the light of day again.
This time, an entire family of helpless, fuzzy babies was trapped in a plastic trash can in California. Fortunately, thanks to a kind passerby, the furballs were immediately spotted, and they didn’t have to wait long to be rescued.
Fuzzy Babies Crying For Help
When a man heard loud yelping sounds from a nearby trash can, he immediately rushed into action. Approaching the can, he realized that there was an entire litter of kittens, four of them, trapped inside.
The man didn’t waste time. He contacted The Kris Kelly Foundation, who spread the news on their platforms. It didn’t take long for Shira, the president of The Animal Rescue Mission, to see the post.
“It all began when a kind man spotted the kittens in a garbage can and sent the footage to the incredible @kriskellyfoundation, who immediately shared it on Instagram asking for help,” The Animal Rescue Mission wrote on Instagram.
Shira immediately offered to take the kittens in. Thanks to Kelli of @thegratefuldogproject, the kittens were safely rescued from the can and taken to her home overnight.
At home, these fearful babies were fed, bathed and cleaned. For the first time ever, they felt safe and cozy. To see them all curled up next to each other was a rewarding moment for Kelli.
The next morning, the kittens received another heartwarming surprise: a foster home.
“Kelli took them home, removed all their fleas, gave them love and care, and brought them to our vet first thing in the morning. From there, a truly amazing couple stepped in to foster and nurse them back to full health,” the California organization added.
All it took for these “spicy” felines to blossom was love.
Their foster parents helped them thrive and learn all about living in a home. Before long, the kittens were ready to be adopted into a loving family.
As it turned out, they couldn’t find a better match than Elyse!
The Perfect Match
Elyse, a California woman looking to adopt a couple of kittens, fell in love with this family right off the bat.
Even though her initial plan was never to adopt all four, Elyse just couldn’t bear the thought of kittens being separated from each other. So, she took them all!
“In the most fairytale ending, she adopted the whole crew, and now they’re growing up together, loved beyond words, living their best little kitten lives,” TARM concluded.
Now, the kittens are thriving in their new home. They’re already miles away from their abandonment, both physically and emotionally.
They play, learn new skills every day, and love their new mom endlessly. After a terrible start in life, the kittens are now looking forward to every new day.
