As he wandered the neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, a stray black-and-white dog named Bowie felt lonely and utterly sad.
He looked around, hoping to catch the eye of a kind stranger who would offer him a helping hand. Bowie needed a hug and a few kind words more than ever before.
Fortunately, the local police officers spotted him and jumped to his aid.
Bowie surrendered to them and let them capture him. He felt relieved because someone noticed him and showed him empathy.
The police immediately reached out to Stray Rescue of St. Louis and told them about the stray pup who needed their help.
You Don’t Need To Worry Anymore
Upon receiving the call, Lochmann and her team rushed to the scene to collect Bowie.
Once the dog met his rescuers, he could tell that they were good people, and he sensed that he could trust them.
It seemed like all of Bowie’s worries vanished when Lochmann picked him up and placed him in her car. The pup nuzzled into her and wrapped his paws around her. He felt safe at last.
“This sweet baby boy was beside himself, running the streets all alone. [H]e wanted to be held and told everything would be OK,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis wrote on Facebook.
Lochmann showered Bowie with cuddles during their ride to the Missouri shelter.
“[W]e love him already,” the rescue added.
The pup felt that his life was about to change for the better.
As soon as Bowie got a clean bill of health, he started searching for a foster family where he could fully relax.
Shortly afterward, a wonderful family offered to foster the pup.
When they picked Bowie up from the shelter and took him home, the pup was over the moon, and he couldn’t stop smiling.
A Ton Of Love In His Foster Home
Bowie’s foster family was delighted with him. So was their dog Ramone, who made an instant bond with him.
The two pups loved hanging out together.
“Ramone is absolutely smitten with him. He loves to play with other dogs, and he is a professional snuggle bug,” Anne-Marie Theresa, Bowie’s foster, wrote in a Facebook comment.
His foster family gave Bowie all their love and helped him regain confidence.
The pup realized that life was wonderful and began enjoying every day to the fullest.
Everyone who met Bowie couldn’t help falling in love with him. And yet, despite being such a great dog, he still hasn’t found his happily ever after.
However, he doesn’t lose hope and firmly believes that his human will soon find him.
Hoping to help Bowie find a forever family soon, the local pizzeria Imo’s Pizza offered to pay for his adoption fee.
Bowie’s human friends hope that the doggo will soon capture the heart of his forever family and find a home his heart longs for.
