Prolonged periods in the shelter can be extremely stressful for any dog to bear. Many completely withdraw, or they just lose interest in doing things they used to love.

Still, this won’t always help dogs immediately. For some pups, it takes a very long time before they are adopted, and that is just how it is sometimes.
When the rescuers first took in this sweet pup, they had no idea how long he would stay in the shelter. However, things would soon change drastically for her.

Even though Louise had spent a long time in the shelter, it almost never affected her spirit. I mean, sure…there were times when she was sorrowful, but she was generally very high-spirited.

Just when they expected it the least, a chance presented itself and someone applied to adopt Louise and take her to a new life.
This happened after 640 days, and everyone at the shelter was overjoyed at the news. When her new owner came to take her, the rescuers prepared a little surprise.
