You know what always fascinated me about dogs was how they could just behave one day at any given point, and then completely change in just a day.
This has happened to me numerous times with my dog, and sometimes, it was for the better. He was usually terrified of fireworks, and there was little we could do about it on New Year’s Eve.
However, he got over that fear eventually, and that really surprised us because it just happened so suddenly. I guess dogs can always surprise us.
This owner from North Carolina was also shocked after realizing just how much his senior dog has changed over the years.
He Is Just An Old Man Now
Not that long ago, the dog owner who goes by the username @allegedlydani on TikTok started thinking about his dog and how different he was back then.
Back when he was younger and smaller, the pup would constantly bark at his owner, and he even showed it in one of his videos.
He can be seen trying to move away from the dog, but the pup followed him and tried to place his paws on his feet while he was barking.
As time went on, everything changed, and so did this beautiful dog. Dani noticed that his pup had changed dramatically over the years, and so had everything about him.
He wasn’t just a playful and slightly problematic dog anymore. He was in his senior years, so he mostly just enjoyed napping and cuddling.
When you think about it, that is a massive transformation from how he used to behave, and it just goes to show how surprising dogs can be.
What Did The TikTok Community Have To Say?
Shortly after reminiscing about his dog’s behavior, the owner from North Carolina combined the two clips where he showed the change and posted it on his channel.
Everyone on the internet was surprised by the change in this dog, but they loved to see how different and more cuddly he became.
One person commented: “She’s making sure before she goes that you know she still loved you even tho all of the terrorizing.”
Maybe, all the ‘terrorizing’ was actually just this dog’s way of expressing love, or his attempts to make the owner go out and play with him. Who knows?
Another person said: “My dog got dementia and forgot she didn’t like people. We had three very sweet cuddly years with her.”
I don’t know what to say about that. It’s incredibly heartbreaking but also wholesome that she was able to show her owners how much she loved them before the end.
Lastly, somebody commented: “The part that hurts the most is when they lose the color in their eyes.”
Yeah, it really just puts in perspective how brief our time with dogs is, and even when we think we have treasured every moment with them, we still have regrets and want them back in our lives.
This wholesome story has shown us how important it is to do just that, but also to realize that those memories will always stay with us, even when our pups are gone, and they will always live through us.
