Loving Shelter Pup From California Was Put On Euthanasia List But Then Kind Woman Rushed To Save Him

When Boogie arrived at Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA), located in Downey, California, he captured the hearts of the staff and volunteers.

The three-year-old dog was loving and gentle, and he got along with other dogs.

Although Boogie was an adorable dog who would bring happiness to any family that decides to adopt him, heartbreakingly, he was scheduled for euthanasia.

The reason why he ended up on the dreaded list was his kennel cough.

Sadly, Boogie didn’t have much time, and he clung to the hope that someone would rescue him before it was too late.

A Second Chance At Life

As soon as the news about Boogie’s scheduled euthanasia reached a shelter volunteer named Ella and Fur Love Haven Rescue in Oregon, they were compelled to help the pup.

In order to rescue him from the shelter, the kind-hearted people needed someone who would foster him, so they contacted Ava Taddeo.

The giant-hearted woman agreed to welcome him into her home.

She was heartbroken when she learned that Boogie’s time was running out. She hopped into her car and rushed to save him.

Taddeo arrived at the shelter two hours before Boogie’s scheduled euthanasia.

She took the pup with her, and they left the shelter together.

Once she placed him in her car, Taddeo could tell how relieved and safe the dog felt. During his freedom ride, Boogie looked out of the car window, enjoying the view.

Taddeo couldn’t wait to give him all her love and take care of him like he deserved.

Once she brought him home, she gave him a nice bath. Boogie felt comfortable and soon fell asleep.

His foster mom took him to the vet, who gave him a thorough examination. It turned out that the pup didn’t have kennel cough but pneumonia.

The vet prescribed him medication, and Taddeo took him home. She showered him with love and took excellent care of him.

Boogie thrived every day. He enjoyed his life in his foster home. He also loved going to the beach with Taddeo.

Boogie’s Mysterious Past

Taddeo wanted to learn more about his past, so she asked a shelter volunteer about Boogie.

However, they didn’t know anything about his backstory.

Although Taddeo never found out what Boogie’s life had been before he arrived at the shelter, she has her assumptions. Since the dog never showed any signs of trauma, she is convinced that he had loving owners.

Taddeo also noticed that Boggie adored older people, so she assumed that his owners were older people who perhaps passed away, and their family didn’t want to take care of Boogie.

Whatever Boogie’s past may have been, his forever mom was glad that the pup got a second chance at life.

Once he makes a full recovery, the dog will be ready to enjoy his life to the fullest.

Taddeo loved Boogie and eventually realized that she couldn’t let him go. She adopted him and made Boogie the happiest pup in the world.

For Taddeo, watching Boogie thrive has brought her a deep sense of fulfillment.

“It’s been an absolute journey to have seen a dog that came to me on the brink and literally saving him two hours from euthanasia time to now seeing him thrive and flourish and be healthy has been the most rewarding thing I could ever ask for,“ Taddeo told GeoBeats Animals.

Boogie loves his new life, and he couldn’t be happier.

Thank you to all the good humans who fought to save Boogie and gave him a chance to start a new life.
