While driving, a Mississippi resident named Breanna saw something furry crossing the road and immediately screeched to a stop.
Once she got out of the car and took a closer look, she realized that it was a tiny puppy that rushed into the grass and hid its face.
Breanna was heartbroken to think that someone had abandoned a puppy on the side of a road and was committed to bringing him to safety.
However, the pup was frightened and kept hiding in the grass, not knowing that his life was about to change forever.
The Little Pup Is No Longer Alone
Breanna started calling the pup to come out of the grass, but he was too scared. He didn’t know if he could trust her.
The kind woman didn’t give up on the pooch. She continued talking to him in a soft voice and whistling, trying to attract his attention and coax him out of his hiding spot.
The puppy, later named Koa, must have sensed that he could trust Breanna because shortly afterward, he peered from the grass and looked at his rescuer. He gathered up the courage and approached her.
Breanna stroked him gently, trying to make him feel safe. The pup wasn’t in good condition.
“He looked skinny and dirty with a lot of fleas,” Breanna wrote on TikTok.
She put Koa in the car and took him home.
During the ride, the pup couldn’t hide the sadness that he felt. He was lying down and gazing at Breanna, wondering if he could put his faith in her.
Once she brought him to her home in Lumberton, Mississippi, Breanna gave him a bath and held him in her arms like a little baby. She knew that he needed love in order to feel safe.
Breanna and her husband did everything they could to make him feel comfortable.
Their son was delighted with Koa, and he treated him affectionately. The family bought him toys and took him outdoors to play.
A Place To Call Home
It didn’t take long for them to fall in love with the sweet pup, so they decided to make him a permanent member of their family.
“We love him, he’s so sweet,” Breanna wrote in another TikTok video.
Koa was glad that his luck changed for the better.
He loved his new family, and Breanna was definitely his favorite human. He followed her everywhere and looked at her with eyes full of admiration and gratitude.
Breanna took Koa to the vet, where he was examined and dewormed. After he received the necessary vaccinations, the puppy returned home with his mom.
As days went by, Koa became more confident and let his playful personality shine through. He enjoyed playing with his little human.
The puppy was over the moon because he had the most amazing family and a place to call home.
