Dog Shaking Uncontrollably In California Shelter Saved Miraculously 10 Minutes Before Euthanasia

It just breaks my heart whenever a dog’s kennel stress is mistaken for aggression. Brownie, being in a loud shelter and confined between four walls, was exactly that – misunderstood!

This poor furry girl was literally shaking from stress in a California shelter. For reasons still vague to this day, she ended up on the streets, and when her second chance to find a decent home finally arrived, people let her down again.

Overlooked, afraid of everything, and completely forgotten, Brownie was only minutes away from being put to eternal sleep that day. And, just when it seemed her story would end in the most heartbreaking way possible, an email arrived – one that saved her life!

The video of Brownie shaking uncontrollably, posted by the Instagram account, @iloverescue, broke many hearts within minutes. It was striking 2 P.M., which only meant one thing: it was Brownie’s time to be euthanized.

“They just pulled her kennel card! They’re taking her to euth in a few minutes!! If you can save her – email the shelter NOW,” @iloverescue wrote in the video.

Being in a shelter in San Bernardino, California, for a month, Brownie failed to find her forever home. She was already on the euthanasia list, with zero chance of being saved. Then, Thao, a long-time foster, saw her video.

“The cutoff time is usually two o’clock where they euthanize the animal. I saw the video probably 10 minutes until two I decided to go ahead and buy her more time and foster her,” Thao told GeoBeats Animals.

It was literally a last-minute rescue. Thanks to the organization, Lend A Bone Rescue, which organized her transportation, this seemingly aggressive dog was safely taken to Thao’s home.

What followed in the very next minute was truly heartwarming!

While everyone expected Brownie to be reserved and shy, she did something completely unexpected. As soon as she saw Thao, she jumped out of the car and went straight onto a sofa, requesting cuddles. It was as if she made herself right at home.

“Brownie arrived at 10:30pm. In bed by midnight. No decompression, fear, trust, anxiety. You’d think these videos were made in a span of days. She made herself right at home,” Thao wrote in the comment section of an Instagram post.

Being a foster mom to a pack of dogs was a beautiful thing for Thao, and she couldn’t wait to see how Brownie would fit in. Given her adorable reaction to a new foster home, Thao decided to introduce her to the dogs the very next day – and she wasn’t wrong.

Brownie immediately joined the pack and engaged in playtime. It was such a rewarding moment just seeing her decompress with her buddies.

So far, Brownie’s days are filled with endless entertainment, exciting adventures, and nothing but love, play, and cuddles. To see her enjoy her life to the fullest right after being saved from euthanasia is beyond words – and Thao couldn’t be more grateful for saving her.

When the time comes, Brownie will be looking for her forever home. Right now, she’s just happy to appreciate the life she knows.
