California Breeding Dog Dumped For Being ‘Useless’ Feels Loved For The First Time

California Breeding Dog Dumped For Being ‘Useless’ Feels Loved For The First Time

One thing I will never understand is how some people perceive dogs merely as breeding machines. Once they’re done ‘producing,’ their owners simply give them up or take a much worse step: abandonment. Terrible!

Sadly, this is the harsh reality of many dogs that once had a home and now have nothing.

Lottie, a beautiful Bully girl, was one such case. Not only was she betrayed by her owner, but she also literally scraped by, labeled as ‘useless.’

She was at the lowest point of her life when animal control found her… dumped, hopeless, and distrustful. She didn’t know what love meant. And, she certainly hadn’t met anyone who could earn her trust…until she saw Marisa.

She Had Scars On Her Belly

Lottie’s situation was far from perfect.

When animal control found this abandoned pup on the California streets, she had C-section scars on her belly, her teeth were broken, and on top of everything, she had extremely cropped ears.

Although her past was an enigma, it was pretty easy to understand that Lottie hadn’t had a decent life. Quite the opposite – she suffered a lot. She was only used for breeding, and that was about it.

“Lottie was most likely dumped when she was no longer useful. They literally bred her repeatedly based on the scars she had on her belly,” Marisa told GeoBeats Animals.

Finally, Lottie was taken to a California shelter and began a new chapter of her life. Little did she know that in only two months, she would meet her soulmate.

Marisa Elbert, who already had a dog named Andy, turned out to be the perfect match!

Marisa had recently lost her other dog, Maisy, and was extremely heartbroken. But then, she saw Lottie, and she reminded her of her late buddy so much. She took Lottie home after a few meet-and-greets, hoping to give her a better life.

To everyone’s surprise, Lottie didn’t need time to adapt. She was already home and she loved every single minute of it!

Living The Perfect Life

It’s safe to say that Lottie, Andy, the cat, Motor, and Marisa live their best lives together!

Within days, Lottie embraced every member of her family as if she had known them forever. She became a cuddle bug, a lover, a caregiver, and a playmate – all in one.

The only issue she still coped with was separation anxiety. For the first few months, Lottie had a hard time every time Marisa left home, reminding her of abandonment. But, with dedication and lots of training, Lottie slowly started to accept that situation, too!

One particular friendship in Lottie’s life is so special. It’s just beyond cute to see this sturdy, tough-looking dog completely melt around her feline friend, Motor

They’re literally best friends!

And, with Andy? They look like those classic movie characters who play ‘partners in crime’ whenever they’re about to do something. Okay, they’re much cuter, I admit.

At the end of the day, what truly matters is that Lottie is far from the life she knew before. She now has a new home, a new family, and many tomorrows to look forward to. Just seeing her in her new house poses many questions, like ‘how could anyone do something cruel to her?’

“I still can’t believe somebody could be mean to her or abandon her, or just not want her in their life,” Lottie’s mom added in her interview.

Marisa couldn’t be more thankful for taking Lottie home. With her in the picture, the puzzle is now complete.

“She is such a sweet, wonderful dog and I am so thankful that she came into my life,” she concluded.
