They say that every new day is a new adventure with your dog, and they’re usually right.
But, if you have a Dachshund, the adventure is doubled!
Jina and Nick, a couple from New Jersey, know this all too well. Recently, they and their newest addition to the family, a Dachie named Wilbert, went viral for the cutest thing.
Here’s what happened…
It Was Hilarious And Adorable At The Same Time
Jina was doing a thirteen-hour shift on a weekend and couldn’t wait to return home after all the stress.
She and Nick are proud owners of two amazing Dachshund dogs, Amber and their teeny-tiny baby, a two-month-old Wilbert. So, what Jina expected was to see her fiancé and her two bundles of joy giving them the biggest hug and then having a low-key nighttime.
Little did she know that what she would find in the bathroom would stun her – and instantly make her day!
She slowly entered the house only to realize Nick and Wilbert were in a bathroom. When she opened the door, Jina witnessed a hilarious, yet adorable sight: Nick was teaching their newly-adopted puppy how to swim – in a full bathtub!
“Rich because after a stressful work day, I come home to my fiancé teaching our puppy how to swim in the bathtub,” Jina wrote in the video.
He firmly held Wilbert in place while the puppy cheerfully paddled toward him, giving him the sweetest, most loving look at the same time. He really seemed to enjoy the water, though!
In the next moment, the video shows Wilbert doing a lap by himself without dad’s help. And, he did it amazingly!
It seems that Nick’s effort paid off, as Wilbert was a fully licensed swimmer after that “mini course.”
Delighted by this hauntingly cute scene caught on camera, Jina decided to share it with Amber and Wilbert’s followers on TikTok and Instagram. The comment section, as you can guess, was flooded with positive comments within minutes!
“People say dogs know to swim instantly but my dog almost drowned because we thought that. So like honestly good job bro,” one commenter wrote.
“The absolute trust in the pup’s eyes,” another added.
Life With Dachshunds Is Never Boring
While life with Dachshunds can be challenging at times, there’s no doubt that Jina and Nick are having the time of their lives with Amber and Wilbert.
Although Nick initially wanted a larger dog, he definitely wouldn’t trade his current situation for anything. Amber and Wilbert adapted to their family so amazingly, and now the couple can’t imagine their life without them.
Every day, it’s all about laughter, cuddles, playtime, new adventures, and endless fun.
What’s even better, they’re just at the beginning of their beautiful journey! Wilbert is only two months old, and he’s picking up all the doggo stuff from his older sister.
Just seeing him grow and learn new things is a rewarding experience. And, Nick and Jina can’t wait to see what else he has in store for them!
