There are many reasons why somebody would choose to surrender their dog and not all of them have to be bad.
Sometimes, people are just forced into it, whether it’s because they don’t have the finances to care for their pet anymore or due to allergies of some kind.
Some owners even have to surrender their pups for truly bizarre reasons that are hard to explain even to people who do not own dogs.
Something like this happened to a woman from Georgia who was forced to surrender her Pit Bull for the strangest reason ever.
A Heartbreaking Goodbye

When Megan Frayer first adopted her dog, Beauty, from the shelter, she thought that the two of them would live the most amazing life together.
She was a six-year-old dog and she was just full of life. Originally, she took her in as a foster dog, but she knew that Beauty belonged with her.
The pup was just the sweetest and kindest she has ever known and that is what mattered the most. However, what happened next shocked Megan.
She found out that her apartment block in Georgia had strict rules against adopting or keeping Pit Bulls in the buildings. A lot of the tenants had negative perceptions of Pit Bulls.

This meant that she couldn’t keep her pup, even though she was a trained and well-behaved dog. Her complaints were ignored and she wasn’t allowed to keep Beauty.
Megan thought that it might work if she adopted Beauty as an emotional support dog because that would require proof that she was not a threat.
She even thought about hiding her, but her roommates were scared of this idea because it could bring them unnecessary trouble.
Heartwarming Reactions On TikTok
After going through this horrible experience, Megan posted the story about Beauty on her TikTok account where people came in and shared their opinions on how she could keep her dog.
One person commented: “Go back and get her. You can go online and have her registered as an emotional support dog in minutes. No housing cannot deny you after that. I’ve done this with my GSD in many places and states.”
I am not quite sure about the logistics of this, but if it might work, why not give it a shot? I hope Megan tries this.
Another person said: “Omg don’t. Is moving not an option? Start a gofundme if you have to… she will be heartbroken & may not even make it out alive.”

Well, the simple truth could be that moving is just not an option sometimes, even though she might prefer it. There could be many reasons for it, and it’s important to be understanding about her situation.
Lastly, somebody commented: “File her as an ESA!! depending what state you live in you can get her registered relatively fast… I have a Malinois Great Dane mix and this is what I do for my complex! I hope this helps!”
If this has an actual chance of working, then it’s probably the best option for Megan. It would be truly heartbreaking if she was forever separated from Beauty, considering they already have such an amazing bond. I hope everything works out for them.
