It’s truly fascinating how resilient dogs can be. Many of them will suffer from serious illnesses and they always keep going.
No matter what the situation is or how badly they are injured, these pups have the will to move forward in hopes of finding a better life.
I think the best example of that would be this pup, named Dolly, who lived a horrible life before she was rescued.
When her rescuers first found her in Wisconsin, they saw that her belly was completely swollen and this shocked everyone. She needed serious medical intervention.
Dolly’s New Foster Mom

When Emilie first decided to foster Dolly, the pup was still undergoing treatment and her condition shocked even her.
Her belly was huge and she was a very small dog, so she could hardly move at all. Luckily, her new foster mom was always there to help with anything she needed.
She was so relieved when she realized that Dolly started wagging her tail whenever Emilie was petting her. It was a positive sign.

It meant that she was recovering slowly. As her treatment was ongoing, her belly was getting smaller by the day and the progress was visible.
At first, she thought that Dolly didn’t really have a personality as a dog, but Emilie realized that she was just different from other pups.
Dolly had a very different voice from other dogs. She sounded almost like a gremlin, but Emilie found that very charming.
Dolly Is A Fighter

She was also a little socially awkward and didn’t really know how to behave around other dogs or cats. The other animals in the house didn’t mind this really.
They understood that Dolly had been a very hyperactive dog. This didn’t just stop at other animals in the house.
She liked to bother her foster mom whenever she could. Dolly would chew on Emilie’s book when she was reading, or she would pull on shower curtains whenever she could.
Her favorite activities were running around the house in Wisconsin and just being a menace to everyone around her, and I can understand that.

With time passing by, Emilie was just amazed by her progress. Her swollen belly was completely gone and Dolly was now back to normal weight.
She didn’t believe this sweet pup would pull through, but she did. Dolly never gave up because she was a fighter and she wanted to be with the people she loved.
In Emilie’s care, Dolly learned a lot of things and is now living her best life. Hopefully she will find a forever home soon because she deserves it.
